Jane Parker! We're counting on you to oppose this! Beautiful open space is ugly to developers. Just say no to corporate greed. Look at what they've done to the Highway 68 hills.

does no one remember what happened with east garrison or 8th and gigling and all the land that was raped and now sits horribly abused?? not to mention the wildlife that has had their home taken from them. preserve these park lands for the those whom enjoy the outdoors and for the future children of monterey peninsula instead of lining more developer's pockets and denying the public to what belongs to them

Send those developers back where they came from-protect Monterey's open spaces, wildlife and water conservation. They have already ruined the piers at PG-don't do it.Leave the central bay alone-let the area remain pristine...

So the Supes think this will fly? And they feel we the taxpayers will be willing to pay for all the lawsuits this will bring?

Think again, Supes -

Give up parklands for an access road to a PRIVATE developement? THINK AGAIN, SUPES!

Weaver, Stamp, Erickson and Co are a bunch of whiners. People needs houses to live in. Relax, you tree-huggers. There's more to life than your open space religion. Have you ever heard of something called "children"? They tend to occur, and that means more homes. Chill out.

Just another excuse to put up more McMansions. Don't see why we have to turn Monterey County into another LA County.

I am suspicious of closed session board meetings with developers, especially when they involve invading parkland for development of more housing along a highly impacted road. No scheduled improvements are planned for highway 68 for 20 years.
The board allowed about 1500 dwellings to be developed along Reservation Road on the East Garrison area of Ft Ord. Fortunately, for any of those living in the area, the economy stopped this project. Development is apparently allowed to whom ever shows the money. I recall that they almost allowed Las Palmas developers to build right down to highway 68. We have sections of Ft Ord that have dilapidated housing or old barracks that could easily be raised for housing. Highway 68 is barely adequate for existing residents. Before any more building along the Highway 68 corridor is allowed, a plan for transit should be completed. Toro Regional Park should not have an access road through it and should not be surrounded by houses.
What does it take? Rational development please!!! Transit and services need to be in place before development is allowed and parkland should remain to be parkland. Stop this idea now.
