Jeff , of JND Plumbing, Inc. got a check for about 63% but not before signing a paper stating they were paid in full, Jeff wrote on the paper that work is not warrenty, all the contractors had to sign one before they were given checks. These guys have lost lots of money even theough Tim Leveque of the Monterey County Bank said to the contractors they would get paid I will see a copy of what he signed this afternoon. Thanks
Why build a pool if you can't afford to fill it with water and then strong arm the contractors to take less then full payment after being told they would all get paid by the bank who took over the payments. The guys were told that if they wanted to change the terms of the waiver that they could speak to the banks attorney, if they didn't sign the waiver they were not going to get paid and most were only paid about 63%. JND Plumbing, Inc. will not warreny any work due to not being paid in full and this was written on the waiver. These guys worked hard to meet the dead line so Sunset could print their article yet the guys always had to wait for payment.Unfair business practice, gone are the days when a hand shake and your words mean anything. |

Rabobank is suing more than just Mills and Woodman. Sounds like Monterey County Bank has some more explaining to do with the once local Bank of Salinas/Commuity Bank. This can't be only about feeling the pinch. Who pays this PR firm, whose client is also Monterey County Bank?

1 Sad about the Mills brothers. Forty years building a viable farming business and reputation as pillars of the community, and then lose it all in their old age by greedily jumping into real-estate near the top of a bubble. |

I agree with Bill T. The Mills brothers were good people - however, it is a shame that persons fortunate enough to have made enough money in their lives to be able to have possessed a lifestyle most people could only imagine would feel that obtaining yet additional wealth was necessary - as opposed to having been happy and satisfied with the "more than plenty" they already had.

1 where oh where is their any help, let alone justice. I could really use an attorney, but the Mills have conviently hidden or transferred all of their assets to other family members or entitiles.....i.e. CHIEFTAN PRODUCE. I hope that I would gladly invite discussion to my situation. Did the Mills pay their kids with my money? Yep, guess so. I pray for someone to really uncover the truth. |

Mills may have made some bad decisions but the ones who invested with them in the hopes of making the same killing have only themselves to blame for not doing their homework. Anyone who knows Monterey knows that Pasadera had not sold out yet after five years and it is less than five miles from Mills Monterra project on the same Road!
