Hard to imagine any legitimate reason a person would not want to file a report after getting stabbed. The "anyone" he doesn't want to get in trouble is himself.

what a waste of time driving over the hill to take a report from some idiot who got stabbed in the head and doesn't want to talk about it. he's lucky he can still talk at all. i wish they could charge him with obstructing justice because some stab-happy nutcase is still lurking out there in the hills...

Or he was stabbed and than wrote a check to the stabber, Or he was checking it out and got stabbed. It is so clear. Hopefully he did not get stuck in the chest.

Maybe he's not talking because he's being threatened. As in, maybe he's afraid some gang is going to kill him for turning in one of their members, or maybe they've threatened his family.
