Monrovia mayor to be honored by area Boy Scout district

What is she being honored for ?
Is it for passing out over 100 expensive citations to miscreant parents dropping off and picking up there children at Monrovia high school ? Or for promoting dangerous jaywalking !

The Boy Scouts of America's recent decision to uphold a ban on gays is outdated and embarrassing.

I respect their right as a private organization to create and enforce their own rules, including membership.

However, I think that they missed an opportunity to become better role models and return the focus to the key message of scouting.

Scouting is about teaching core values and survival skills. Sexual orientation should not matter.

I believe this policy distracts from the important lessons and ultimately harms the children. I was a Cub Scout as a kid, but I wouldn't send children of mine into an organization with such discrimination.

I hope the Scouting officials will reconsider this decision in the near future.

And then maybe I will buy some of their popcorn. For now, I'll stick to Thin Mints.
