And in these hard economic times you have the greedy School districts, like El Rancho Unified, looking to raise property taxes. The El Rancho school district conducted a recent survey to see if they could. Of course they have a new spin on it, they call it a School Bond not a property tax. It will have to be payed back by way of higher property taxes..Pico Rivera vote NO! on the upcoming School Bond

I know, Picoguy. We voted down a parcel tax in the Pasadena Unified School district and they also voted down a parcel tax at LAUSD. Those rich suckers in San Marino have approved every parcel tax in their city but their school still had layoffs. Today's kids are going to be in such huge debt on their credit cards and student loans that they won't be paying for anybody's social security--so screw them. I'm glad that more huge cuts are coming to UCLA--let them charge $150k for a degree to any pigeon who thinks it's worth it. I won't believe schools have a budget crisis until they cancel football season and don't order any new $100 textbooks for the next 10 years.

First of all most job fairs are a waste of time. The majority of the "jobs" are commisioned based only. They also require you to go and get licensed that takes about 4 months to get and can be pretty steep in fees. In addition to that there are plenty of schools there (University of Phoenix, Redlands, and ITT) The question I asked them is why go back to school? Already have a Bachlor's Degree and the guy behind me has a Master's degree and he's just as unemployed as I am. Why go back to school? Now word comes that the traitors (elected officials) in Sacramento are proposing more tax increases, but have offered NO bills that will encourage jobs to come here. Instead these rats are chasing jobs out of California. We need leadership in Sacramento. Would say New leadership but there is none in Sacramento. We need a change. The eleceted officials we have now have been dismal failures. Vote em all out this fall.

The University of Phoenix is a huge scam to get you into debt. Did you see the documentary "College Inc" on pbs.org ? Some Everest nursing grads featured said they couldn't get hired because they never did a rotation at a real hospital. For their rotation they went to a daycare center. Now even real RN grads can't find jobs.

I think it was nice that Mr. Dreier of San Dimas took a chance. It beat going all the way into Los Angeles,Orange County or Riverside...find parking, pay a fee, with unemployment money you don't have, to be treated like cattle. So i would like to THANK DAVID DREIER for his efforts.
