Now they are considering using two bldgs for which we currently cover with one. What is the educational bbackground of the new president?

Thirty million into two old buildings or 40 million into a new building. Cheaper to maintain one new one. I am with amazed. Referendum vote them out.

Why not just renovate one building? Why must they renovate two buildings?? Am I wrong, but woudn't that save money? The former Monongahela Elementary Center building once housed over 1,000 kids as a high school. My husband graduated from there in 1979 and tells me there was never a space issue. They need to put more than 17-18 kids in a classroom-- that's what's eating up all the space. And please no one tell me that the small amount of kids in the classroom makes learning any easier for these children! I know what a crock that is!! I know by my experiences with my 10 and 9 year old children thank you very much and how much time I spend teaching them myself.

I spent 2 years when I was in high school when the building was a high school. I graduated in 81 from the new high school. I am all for helping my kids at home with their homework but I am not a qualified teacher..I am also not a fan of the school district and I am certainly not a fan of larger classroom sizes. I chose to sent my children to Catholic School..they have since graduated and that was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.

30 million to renovate or 40 million to build. 10 million dollars is a BIG difference!!!!!! So that might be why they are not building new.

What about this, what if Ringgold new board members are trying to do what makes sense. I am all for opening up both mec and dec, renovating finley. I don't think parents from Donora really like their children going all the way to GEC for an education, this is what makes sense, Ringgold is not the best educational system, make all the building safe and increase awareness and prep all students for college to inhance the futrue.

..And what if all those making the decisions really knew what they were doing and what if we are tired of having our tax dollars spent on a bunch of foolishness and meyham..And what if our children didn't have to pay the price for this...

1) Finley is fine short term. Start saving and planning for a new school down the road.
2)Gastonville is way too small. Renovate mec and make ringgold north
3)Leave Ringgold south alone it is perfect

Ok people in the school district whine and b!tch year after year about the school taxes, school board and wasteful spending yet the same types keep getting elected time after time after time!People get off your collective assets and do something about this mess or quit complaining!School board go ahead and raise taxes again and see how many get out of this piece of crap school district! Also I find it extremely funny that some people think their kids would get a better education in catholic, christian or private schools! What a joke as an example do you all have any idea how many graduates of the former M.V.C and other private schools work or have worked for the district? Alot! Plus at least one or more school board members from the past sent their children to a private school now isn't that interesting! Last but not least what idiots came up with the idea of createing this district? It's to big to run properly! P.S What's going to happen when our homes get reasessed and our taxes go through the roof!

School board leaders quit making a mockery of an otherwise good district. After all the time and consulting dollars have been wasted you could have built a grand new building by now. Keep screwing around and wait for interest rates to rise and building costs to go up and you will make us pay twice as much as we would have. An area will either grow or die based upon its schools. Go the cheap way and you will have less people to foot the bill on less stuff. Do it right then people will stay or move here and you will have a better tax base. It is not rocket science. If you need attention that bad join the circus, otherwise get something done!! Lead follow or get out!!

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Virgo

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
