As long as the people that are involved stay to themselves then I have no issues with it.

In the private clubs it does not bother me. What I don't like are these pretend shops with the machines in the back. Why does the city allow this?

The Bee's Nest did have alot of nerve to actually give a statement to the corruption that recently was revealed. They are operating a illegal machine and bookie dealing operation within the valley. I love how these COFFEE SHOP'S pop up. The owner and her business is a sore in the community. She may of broke out in joy when GL was arrested but her herself has 2 daughters that are tied in to the drug corruption in the community. One dealing and useing and the other notorious for her cocaine use. Funny to see her daughter playing a machine at a local bar and a straw and sm zip lock bag w/ white powder fall out of pocket while reaching for additional money. Witnessed by a bar full of people. This is why her comment to the valley paper made me laugh. Once again another person throwing stones from a glass house. She should be the next person investigated and shut down.

How in the world do they openly allow illegal gambling to take place right on main street?!!? I think the new mayor and chief and magistrate are doing a great job but this is simply out of control. Maybe our new councilman should step up to the plate.

Although if it is permitted then maybe we should all open up gambling joints in town. We could compete with the casinos. Viva Monongahela. It is easy money!!

Barb M has been doing this for a long time this is no secret to the community. Thats why I am going to personally make sure that this information is given to the proper people that will do something about her illegal gambling COFFEE SHOP. Not turn a blind eye,, She is a active person when election time is around. It was funny to see her hugging Kepics because at election time she was campaigning against him. Giving away every useless thing at the election polls for Cole. Now Kepics and her are buddy buddy makes me wonder. Her bookie dealer is always seen standing outside her shop b4 it burned down his name is Tony. Why this goes on in Mon City makes me upset, Seems like there are still people turning a blind eye.

What do you care Mad Mon Mom? How are these activities hurting your life or your families life? You'd be better served worrying about what is going on next to your kids locker at school. Or maybe at your kids locker or what they are doing on their computer that they hide from you? Typical Mon City ignorant neb-shi&. Putting a nose where it doesn't belong. Who cares about gambling?????? Are you that shallow minded or just stupid??? You cannot be serious? Illegal, legal who cares? Who is getting hurt by it? Numbers, card games, betting on the Steelers? So what? The PA lottery, school athletic team or churches "Nite At The Races", chug a lug at the fireman's fair or St Anthony's Festa, horse racing at the meadows, bingo games, or at the new casinos??? WHO CARES? These are ok because most are deemed legal???? Give me a break. More power to the back room card games, numbers & sports betting with bookies. You need to get a life MMM. Get involved in something that concerns you personally not simply because you feel the need to be righteous.

Yes I will admit Barb M raised a "great" bunch of kids and well enough said on that but what does that have to do with gambling? Legal vs illegal? Don't gamble in the back room of a place but it is ok to pluck down money at a church fair or fireman's carnival because it's legal? It's ok to walk into the BP and play a number but don't play one with a bookie? Why? It's the same thing except the state isn't getting it's cut. This city has too many serious issues that need addressed and gambling isn't one of them. I read RU Kidding Me's post and I agree with the notion of how is this gambling hurting you? Or how is it hurting you gambler? It's not. It's a harmless vice. If you feel as strong as you do then you need to contact the Fire Chief and tell him to stop the gambling games at their fair next year. Call Father Joe and tell him you do not appreciate St Anthony's having a chuck a luck booth at their Festa. Don't stop there. No more tickets of chance can be sold either for local organizations. Any area bingo games you can shut down? Serious issues need addressed and this doesn't make the list.

All the other examples you mentioned, churches, fairs, firemen carnival, are all NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. I am not saying you are totally wrong with your argument, but under the law, they are exempt.

I know that's the standards I want to maintain when I take your advice and check on what is going on next to my kid's locker at school - lol!! Oh and I bet the prostitutes and junkies on the street corners would also think that anyone disagreeing with their activities should mind their own business and stop being a neb shi& too. Righteous? No... it's called having a little bit of integrity! These illegal back room dealings are grungy! You need to get a little bit of class!

That woman that owns the Bee's Nest is a nasty rude person I hope they put her behind bars. I work at McDonald's and she is always rude to the counter people when she comes in even yells at the Manager. Why should anyone have respect for someone like her. I am just glad that I don't work the front counter very often. Right is right and wrong is wrong she is doing something illegal and if we were we could go to jail and so should she.
