Really Dog?. You're last rant on this forum went on about Rabbi's and Muslims..Not that there is anything wrong with that IF they pertained to this forum. Personal insults from the troll gallery is your deal...you are the owner and the sole proprietor! It would be nice to just read opinions of others' that actually have something to say about what really matters instead your trollishness and trollhem!

I talked to a gentleman who is a prominent figure in the new baptist church over on Rt.51 and the property was purchased for $685,000.00 and the new building was built for a mere 1.1 million. He told me the property is paid off and the building mortgage will be paid off in less than 8 years. Maybe the Pittsburgh Diocese should take lessons on how to handle money...or maybe they should find a way to keep all the clergy's hands out of the till so to speak.

How many buildings does the New Baptist Church have? One? Did they have a building to sell before hand? How many members do they have? Does the New Baptist Church have any schools they maintain? Do they have any charities they support? Do they have a food bank or kitchen available to anyone in need?..Just Asking.

The sad thing here is that some people are unwilling to give it a chance. It would be very nice for the youngsters who go to school together to see each other at church and for the catholics in the area to unite. The posibilties of what could happen are fantastic. BUT some feel we need two buildings. I think better things will happen if we were all together.

I have read this thread in its entirety and as an outsider, I don't think 2 buildings is really what is needed. I believe that if the town of Monongahela relocated all the business's to one end of town and knocked down all the buildings at the other end, then built a very large new church with a very large parking area and one alter but two entrances and two sets of pews (one for Italians and the other for Germans) placed a wall down the center and hung a new sign outside that said "Saint Crybabies" all your problems would be solved! Please don't stop the internet litigation, it is so amusing I may cancel my cable TV!

YOU ARE NOT FAR OFF FROM THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. THE DIOCESE SHOULD SELL BOTH BUILDINGS, BUILD A NEW CHURCH AND OBTAIN A NEW PRIEST. NOW HOW WOULD TRANSFIGURATION FEEL ABOUT THAT?

However, I would not be surprised, markets permitting, that both could be sold and let the faithful worship at other venues. Careful what you wish for. Religion is about faith. Churches are about business. Not that hard for a building to be unconsecrated and sold off to private investors. Happens all the time.

Two good churches. Only one needed. Few unhappy with one chosen. Therefore build a third church. Must be a government operation LOL

When did Fr. Bill get a Goldwing? I think you are mistaken or did the Bishop give the priests a raise?

Nothing wrong with using one church. What is wrong is how the diocese brags about the millions and millions spent on the cathedral and the millions spent on the new high school in the wealthy area of Pittsburgh (in thir own newspaper) and then tell us to give more.

The diocese is playing head games with all concerned. They have been on a mission for years to close Saint Anthonys down, now since this meeting a few weeks ago the Bishop has been waiting for things to calm down. But I'm positive shortly he is going to kick Saint Anthonys to the curb and shut us down for good and the crazy part is Transfiguration yes I said Transfiguration is going to lose more donations and sooner or later the Bishop will close Transfiguration down and tell all parishioners to go to other churches in the valley! Mark my words the diocese cares more about money in general than saving souls, this is a prime example!

Well you are correct about the diocese and money I don't care where I go as long as it is not a long drive. As far as St Damiens is concerned I think they are doing pretty good.

It's time to unlock the doors Bishop Zubik and Father Bill! Your experiment has failed! Open the church up before you lose more donations weekly at Transfiguration masses!
