Folks, I just recently had the duty of taking care of the funeral arrangements for a loved one, and as you can guess it is not a pleasant chore however, I dealt with Mr. Collett at the Buchanan Funeral Home and I must say he helped me up and beyond the call of duty and made it easy and trouble free. The whole family was very impressed "which is a first" I'm not one that gives very many compliments however, in this case I can't say enough good things.

John & Jeff were wonderful during our families loss of our mother. They take every step they can to ensure that the stress and burden of taking care of the loss of a love one goes as easy as possible. We were very pleased.

It takes a special person "like John Collett" to be able to do what they do, give support to the family, set everything up, and keep the world from falling in on you. My hat is off to everyone there at buchanan, TX's

Too bad about his wife getting arrested for drugs.

My dad and I watched him deal with this issue while he helped us through the lose of our mom. He is going through a divorce and has three kids that are dealing with that as well.
That's a rude comment to make about someone but freedom of speech gives us that right. Anyone that knows that young man knows he doesn't do things like that. |

Madlady you are right about Robin however, her actions cost her a marriage to one heck of a guy. John was willing to get help for her and do anything he could to help her overcome her recent addiction, but she liked her drugs more than her family. So for the good of their children and for her, John had no choice but to file for divorce.
Robin was a fine woman until she was injured and almost killed in a car accident, because her pain was so bad she got hooked on pain pills and when the doctors wouldn't prescribe them anymore she got hooked on meth. Drugs don't care who you are or how much money you have, they are highly addictive and they show no mercy. Knowing John he would of fought the drugs to help save her, but he had to put his kids first. His whole family lives in Kentucky so he has no one close to lean on, his burden is heavy right now, so please show some respect. Thank You |

All I can add to Close Friends reply is this, if you want someone with compassion and love in their heart to care for your family, then Buchanan's Funeral Director John Collett is the person to see. IMHO

Well folks I just heard that Mr. Collett is being let go (FIRED) from the funeral home. It seems that the owner believes Mr. Collett's wife, "Whom Mr. Collett has already filed for a divorce from" has caused the funeral home damage in the form of public opinion and image. Well I for one believe that Mr. Collett is paying for something he has no control over. Every family has their problems along the way, and Mr. Collett was handling it the best way he could. Anyone that has ever dealt with Mr. Collett knows how sincere he his about treating everyone that has lost a loved one with the utmost respect. I for one will be calling the owner Monday, if Mr. Collett leaves my business goes with him!!

I am going to use my freedom of speech when again I say thats too bad!

Madlady you're correct, it's not only a bad thing for his wife, it is a shame that Mr. Collett got fired for something he was no part of, he even filed for a divorce because of her actions. Having a good image is important to any business, however, there is RIGHT and WRONG, and his being fired is wrong and everyone knows it. It's clear the almighty dollar is more important to the owners, they also underestimate the good folks of Monett, not only do they understand, they have reached out to help Mr. Collett in his time of distress. I'm sure God will bless each of you for being so kind.
