Online petition set up in support of Terry Swails

what a bunch of crap terry getting fired. I've lived in many tv markets (including L.A.) and have to say terry swails is the best on-air meteorologist i've seen. Personally, I say can theresa bryant and bring terry back, he really is the best. bad move channel 6, shame on you.

We will probably see Terry again this fall on Channel 8. 8 has the best weather forecasts today. They would like to solidify their position and attract more Channel 6 viewers. Channel 4 is too poor to hire Terry. So, to Channel 8 Terry goes! Welcome back Terry!

Should get rid of Paula Sands. Who cares about her show? or anything about her?
Why did they let Terry go and NOT her?

FYI-Eric Maitlin did not just 'leave' or "get out when the gettin was good" He was fired for sleeping with another KWQC employee.

Is this true? And even if it is who cares? It happens in the work place all the time. Who was he sleeping with? And did the 'other party' get canned too?

I want to let you know that I will never watch KWQC anymore!! You need to bring back Terry!! Last night was a prime example. We had no clue of when or where the storm would hit until it was upon us. If Terry was still with us, I would have been very informed of all that was going on, and would be able to get my little son down into the basement way before it hit. But, KWQC decides to put someone on that has no idea about the weather. BRING BACK TERRY SWAILS!!!!!!!!!!

By the way....who does Paula's hair....Helen Keller?

I love and miss Terry Swails very much but that doesn’t stop me from watching TV6. I have grown up on the station, watching at my grandparent’s home, along with mine now, and have never had anything bad to say. I myself am still confused on why Terry was "let go" but every thing happens for a reason and I guess that Terry leaving TV6 is just something we will all have to live with!! I can admit that it does feel like something is missing because Terry is not there. Just like me many of us have been watching TV6 and Terry our entire lives and I completely agree that KWQC made a HUGE mistake "letting him go!!"

I do have to make something clear though. Many of the comments that I read, not neccercly on this website but on others, people were dissing Paula Sands. Paula is a great friend of mine along with many other KWQC employers and she by far is one of the nicest people I have ever met!! If you have not met Paula or anybody at TV6 you need to shut up because almost everybody at the station is genially nice!!

Also Ryan Burchett. On another website one man or women was saying how he copies his weathercasts from the National Weather Service. I can for sure tell you that that information IS NOT true!! I know Ryan and that statement even hurts me! Ryan is very dedicated to TV6 and loves his job there very much. I can tell you that forecasting weather is one of his favorite things to do, and coping somebody elses work is just completly made up and RIDICULOUS!!!

I’m sure the public wants Terry back but I doubt that it will happen. I truly miss Terry and his forecasts, it just seams like a hometown part is missing on TV6. Sadly times come and go, even though I myself hate saying that, it is true and all of us know it.

I love TV6 and would never watch any of those other stations, to be honest, they suck. KWQC-TV6 is such a wonderful station with bright colors, friendly newscasters, and welcoming music. WQAD and others have such dark colors and just sceam like they are trying to be as good as KWQC. I can say one thing now; no station will ever be as wonderful as TV6. Watching KWQC for me will never stop, even with the loss of Terry Swails.

Terry, God Bless and I hope you are happy in anything you choose to do. You are loved and missed very much by all of the Quad Cities and beyond.

Hey!!! Ryan Burchett ROCKS!!!!! I MISS TERRY..... BUT I LOVE RYAN!!!!!

I am on my way to watch the WONDERFUL KWQC-TV6 news right now!!! You should join me, turn on your televisions and watch. I do not understand how you people who have chosen to not watch TV6 anymore can actually go and watch channels 4, 8, and 12 or whatever channels you people do watch now since TV6 isnt good enough for you. By the way I have learned in my life not to judge people by one thing that they do and the mistakes they make. TV6 made a mistake by "letting Terry go," but it's not like they make a mistake every freaking day. You can not judge the station for one little wrong thing that they have done!! So instead of acting like babies and not watching TV6 for one little thing they have done, why don't all you people get over it and start watching the best station for news and weather again.

I am sorry if I offended anybody...but I speek the truth, and the real truth. Some are just to caught in themselves to realize that. So my advice...open your eyes and understand what your missing.

We moved away about 3 years ago, and I just found out about Terry. What a sad loss. Every night when my family is watching the local weather we wish that it was Terry on it. He was a great asset to KWQC, and will truely be missed. I shocked from the comment from Haley saying that Paula Sands is a nice person. I have not liked her for over 10 years and refused to watch her on TV, as I will never forget the time I saw her out to eat with her Mother, and that lady was so mean and hateful to her own mom. I was in complete shock. So please do not say she is a nice person. Nice people do not treat their mothers like she did.

Hazel1966, I understand where you are comming from when you say that. You have a right to express how you feel, as do I. To be honest, I do not know how to react to your story about the night you went out to eat. That is a very intresting story that I may have to tell a few friends. Although... she is and has been a VERY nice person to me, I have not had a problem with her. I have been on set with her before and she is extreamly friendly with her guests on PSl and when it comes to the news she has fun with many of the stories. I just wanted to make that clear to many of the people out there that wright very hurtful and cruel things about her.

Just where is he now? I do miss him... I do not think the forecasts is as good as it was when he was doing the weather. I now look at 8:( Miss Terry on 6

Hey thats a good one. I saw her once in a restaurant. Her hair looked like straw. Has been dyed so much. It really looked bad. She needs to go to a salon and have them fix it right. Look back at the news from yrs. ago. Her hair looked the same then. STRAW Still say CAN SANDS

Um I think that Helen Keller was a briliant women. There is nothing wrong with her. Look how much she over came in her life! To say that she did Paula Sands' hair is very mean even if she is dead. O in if Helen did do her hair I think it is very cute and looks nice...good job Helen.

Wow.....this is something I just stumbled upon. I'm a native of Davenport, but have been living out in Colorado for the past 10 years. Some of my life was spent growing up watching Terry Swails. I still remember all the rumors about her and Carolyn Wettstone...did they actually get married?? Anywho, Terry was one of the best!!! Whenever I'd go home to visit for the summer or the holidays, it was always weather with Terry Swails I'd watch! The rest of the crew sucks....Teresa Bryant....what an amateur...c'mon talk about dry personality and stale even depressing weather segment!!! Watching her is like playing Monopoly, watching the Brady Bunch, and eating Rice Cakes all in one on a Saturday Night at home..yuck! If they let Terry go and kept her....WOW...Channel 6 has some major issues to work out!! Do the corporate execs have that low of an IQ??? Everyone should just flip their channels over to channel 4 and 8 to boycott!! Terry is the MAN....he belongs on CNN anyways because he's that awesome and he can hang with that top notch of a crew!! He's too big for such a local network....Terry, wish you the best and definitely hope to see you on Headline News or even like the Weather Channel...you are too good for KWQC...they are too blind to realize what they've lost!! Move on and don't look back!!! How about even working out here as a meteorologist for one of the Denver News Channels?? You are the MAN!!

Folks, here's the truth---the company that owns KWQC is out of money--I mean the well is completely dry (bad metaphor this week). It should be Bankrupt imminently. And if you do not think so--you could make a FORTUNE. 140 bucks will buy 1,000 share of the company.

The company stock is 14 cents...thats right 14 cents. The entire company, including 10 Network Affiliated TV stations...is valued as much as the corner grocery store.

I assume KWQC simply can not retain any on air talent for anything close to what they are worth. Terry, I'm sure a) has pride....b.) was making big money...and c.) has other options.

Most of the other folks there I'm sure have "a"----BUT do not have b and c. I'm sure its that simple.

Vince Young...what you are saying makes since but I myself would like to know how you are exposed to that information. That is very privite, confidential infromation that few people usually know. If that is true, how do you know it? And if KWQC is really that poor how could it be number one in the Quad Cities and be so popular among families. I mean everybody I know does not watch any other channel but KWQC, so to get to the point I am a little confused in this situation now. So my question to you is how do you know this information, why is KWQC still number one if it is so broke, and could anything potentially happen that KWQC would no longer be KWQC?? Thank you
