Restaurant Bans Children Younger Than 6

They shoudl be very careful that is clearly age discrimination. Age Discrimination is one of the NO NO's

That is just awful. I bet his restaurant won't last. What's next?

First, check your facts on what age discrimination is before you respond. I think it's great! A lot of people with kids have no consideration for those who are dining without kids. If people were considerate and took their screaming child outside or kept them from running around the place, there would be no need to ban them. Next to be banned should be cell phones!

My kids aren't perfect but my Husband and I get compliments all the time on their behavior when we are out to eat, I'd be pissed if I went to a local resturant and got turned away becuase I had my children with me. Wow that's messed up!

Finally.
Nothing worse that THE PARENTS of whinny, spoiled kids who think the restaurant revolves around them. Not everyone thinks your kids antics are the cutest. I don't like ruining my night out because some kid won't eat what's in front of him. That's what babysitters and McDonlad's happy-meals are for. Actually what would be nice, would be to have a kid's area, like churches have crying rooms. |

Is this for all children or just black children???

Just because you think little Johnny or Salley is the cutest thing in the world, doesn't mean everyone else shares that view. Most parents of small children will allow them to scream and run around like they own the place. Courtesy to other customers never enters their minds.
Can't even go to the "Bar" area of a restaurant without these people bringing their undisciplined, spoiled brats in. If the child is quiet and well behaved, that's fine. But, I don't want to deal with your screaming little monster when I'm out to dinner with my wife or friends. This falls into the same catagory as the smoking. They offend some a lot, they offend some a little and they don't offend others at all. |

This is no different then adult only resorts. It's fully legal and would be a boost for those without children r with children of an older age.

I am glad that most of these posts say "most Parents"
I hate it when my meal is interupeted or ruined from some kid running around (I try to trip them!), turning around in their chair - staring at you, banking their tableware on the table, throwing things on the floor...all of that cr*p. It makes me more mad when their parents are ignoring their kids actions OR worse laughing at it. I have four kids ages 5,6,8,9. My wife and I have been taking them out to nice restraunts since each of them were infants - NO not Denny's. If the baby cried, we take them outside, or left if we had to. We don't let our kids treat restaurants as playgrounds. Planning ahead, we bring "quiet" entertainment for our kids - coloring, reading, or QUIET conversation. Our children know what an INIDE voice is. When we visit a restaurant with our kids the first time, we usualy are seated by the kitchen door. Fine. After a few visits (if we like the place), we are seated in the Adult sections, because the management remembers us, and know that our kids are not a problem and that we will take care of anything that becomes a problem. We are not perfect. Our children are not perfect (no matter what grandma sais). But we know how to teach and manage our children in a nice restaurant. I don't blame this guy for banning small children. I might do the same in his place. Lord knows I have seen enough problem PARENTS to know why he want to do this. Sorry this was so long - it struck a nerve. |

Yay! Personally I think restaurants should ask if you want to be seated in the children or no children section. My grandkids are well behaved when eating out, but when they were little, we frequented restaurants that weren't adult oriented. I hate to eat where there are children running around, screaming, or just being obnoxious and the parents are totally oblivious. Now to ban cell phones.

I wish more restaurants would do that. I applaud the manager for standing up for those of us who don't want to listen to shrieking while we are eating.

I think people with cell phones are more annoying!

Hooray. McDonalds is the place if you want to take your children out to eat. Find a baby sitter if you are going to a nice restaurant for a meal. There is nothing worse than having the little ankle-biters running between the tables while the parents sit and talk. Of course this could be solved by eating establishments providing kid friendly rooms away from adult diners.

To all of you who agree with this@&*#%! up restaurant owner. I think you are all bitter dumb(_!_) I bet you don't have any children. I bet all of you own dogs and see them as your children. Do you know how stupid you look with your dogs and their fancy lil outfits? come on lets get real here. Children are our world! they bring joy to our lives. If you do not agree then you must a freak! i would never want to dine where you all are at ^-^ I hope this owner gets major hell for this and losses his business`so there!!!

Hey "sunshine" nice mouth for a parent! Do you spend most of your time addressing issues with foul language and calling people names...great child rearing tools...good job! By the way the topic here was banning ill-behaved children from a comfortable eating establishments. Did you intend on commenting on that or teaching your kids how to be more like Dad?! And YES it should be asked upon entering "kids or no kids?"...I've been saying this for years! They can be annoying; although most are not. But apparently all those with them do not always 'think' of those around them. Just like cell phone users.

HEY 'SURELY' why don't you get a real life and job, instead of being so ignorant every comment. Grow up and stop wasting space...on the forums and the planet. |

I dont take the kid out b/c it is too difficult and I dont want to be a bother for others.
That said, many of you here really are nasty, cantankerous, bastards. Just hope you realize that. What I would love is for something YOU are doing that you think is just fine to start annoying someone else. Maybe eventually we can have restaurants where only people of specific habits, demographics and temperment are allowed during specific windows of time. That would be a really fun society! |

i dont think the guy who is banning kids from his place is not in the right mind i see kids in restaurants all the time as i used to be in the fast food business i think the guy should be out of bussiness with all our help.get the guys number and we call him every minute hey im ready then all of you will see a change.

Children don't belong in certain adult restaurants, and as a parent it dosn't insult me a bit if this guy wants an adult only policy. Nothing is more annoying when trying to relax and have a nice meal than having little kids whining and doing what small children do when they should be home sleeping anyway. It is a parents responsibility to know what places are child friendly and what places are for adult diners. When I take my wife out to enjoy a meal alone the last thing I want to do is have someone else kids running around making a commotion, for that I could have stayed home.

While some parents are oblivious to their children's bad behavior, I find that adults can be the most irritating part of the restaurant,(flight, theater, etc.), experience. Loud, boorish, self-centered adults have ruined many more evenings out than children have.
I have the feeling that many of these posters are those types of people, and no, I do not have children yet. |
