Businesses have the right to cater to certain clientèle, however, being a mother of young, well-behaved children- I find it a little insulting and therefore- I would ban that restaurant!

Finally?....I don't think so...are they going to go after black people, hispanics, whites too then..why not?...hey you can't pleased everybody and I hate sitting next to the jerk from El Cajon,CA. w/ my son....so hope he/she get's the boot too...since he hates kids then just take a doggy bag and stay away from society since kids are everywhere just in case you haven't noticed. We have money too and love to go out and eat why should we sit next to some jerk or be left out, foolish people and bussineses.

I am sorry to say this but I can't stand it when I go out to a up-scale restaurant to enjoy a nice romantic evening with a friend and the whole experience is ruined due to young children. I think that children under age 6 should not be allowed in certain restaurants after a certain time of day

I agree w/Miss Moe. Don't take young children to upscale restaurants where people are paying top dollar for atmosphere. I have no problem only taking my kids to family restaurants.

Ok this guy has the nerve to say he isn't discriminating against parents with kids younger then six but he is. I have seen teenagers act worse then my 4 year old.

This isnt to bad. There are just trying to have a nice enviroment for adults, there are many retaurants that do this.
Also there are ones that have 30, 40, 50, and over nights which are nice. its people within your age group and have the same maturity as you. whats worst then kids is young 21 yrs old just starting to drink that act like idiots cuzz now there legal. kids are way more toleable
kids dont bother me, i have a monster of my own. and as parents we should know that its a lot to ask a child to sit through dinner at a retaurant, it doesnt matter how polite and well behaved they are, it's just not on there level yet.
and as parent we should know that it is difficult, we should respect other peoples wishes while they dine. How many of you would like a nice dinner out with your partnerswithout the kids.
also just to make a point who would want to take a small child to expensive restaurant, and 2nd what kids likes thai food.
there are plenty of enough family friendly restaurants around. have one for adults it not discrimination.

How come Mr. Gereau didn't open a French restaurant? Seems odd. But I agree, leave the kids at Denny's.

I love it...a restaurant owner with balls! It's really not the young under age 6 kids he's disgusted with, rather the stupid kindler-gentler spineless parents who don't have the guts to teach their kids proper manners in restaurants and exercise corporal punishment when they become defiant and refuse to behave properly. Unfortunately we've become such a p-u-s-s-i-f-i-e-d politically-correct society that has parents running scared that they're afraid to punish their kids because someone might call the child protection authorities on them and take their kids away because they got rapped upside the head for misbehaving in a restaurant. Today's idiotic parents do all of their etiquette training for their frigg'n kids at McDonalds and Burger King, where there are no rules and boundaries. They're allowed to scream at the top of their lungs in tamtrums, throw food all over the damned place, crawl at-will on their hands and knees across the filthy floors, and pay no consequences for this kind of behavior. Then Mom & Dad get a hankering for Thai and get upset when the manager refuses service because he doesn't want his patrons' dining experience being disrupted and ruined by a bunch of unruly, misbehaved malcontent god damned rug rats who don't know how to behave in a decent eating establishment. I'm sure the owner will be sued, claiming age discrimination, but there's no law that forces business owners to accept everyone who comes in the door.

I remember the ONE time I acted up in a restaurant as a kid. My mom grabbed me by the arm, took me outside and basically told me to knock it off and we would go back inside once I stopped acting up. I'm sure it was mentioned that this time it was a warning and next time it happened, the spankings would begin.

I was in a Denney's in Anaheim and a child about 4 yr. old kept putting his feet on the railing right next to an elderly couple that was eating breakfast, the man asked the Mother to have the child take his feet down and she asked "why is that bothering you?" I could not believe her response! Kids act up but that is why we as parent are suppose to teach them, Mr. Gereau, my hat is off to you.

I agree! Stand up for your restaurant. however, i can see someone crying to the courts about this. its hard to enjoy your meal with kids screaming and running all over.

GREAT IDEA!!! I would patranize more restaurants like this.
Parents need to understand that if their child cannot act appropriately in a restaurant, then they are not welcome.
KUDOS!

Businesses should have this right, just as they should have the right to decide whether smoking should be permitted in their establishment. Furthermore, restaurants need to set and enforce policies which remove disruptive clientele, including children (and, more appropriately, their parents).
If you can't teach your child to behave in public, then your child is not ready for public interaction. Keep the kid at home. If you do bring your kid and (s)he misbehaves, you are not allowed to be offended if a more responsible adult handles the situation more effectively than you. If you agree to that, bring your kid; if not, leave the kid at home.
