I haven't read a thing about this in the news. Are the people who beat him up being prosecuted?

Yeah, that's it. Blame the bar, whose job it must be to supervise adults. Because obviously, grown men can't take care of themselves. |

1 They had both been drinking a lot. From what I heard, the victim made a derogatory statement to a friend of the person who did the beating. It should have been dropped - instead, someone is in a coma. Regardless of who had been drinking or what had been said, there is simply no excuse for assaulting someone to this extent. I still do not understand why the bar should be liable for this assault. Define "over served?" Should the bar do sobriety tests prior to serving alcohol? Are they experts in determining who is sober and who is not? No. It is up the adults drinking to know their limits. |

A bar is suppose to train their employees on how to tell if someone has to much to drink. But as always money drives the business. As long as your not causing a problem and still money in your pocket they will serve you. I'm saying it's all the bars fault but this happens all the time. |

Sorry, my fingers were going to fast. I meant to type "still has money" and "I'm not saying".

Because his intention was not to put the kid in the hospital? And I'm sure it was not the other guys intention to put the other kid in the hospital. Accidents happen, it wasn't his fault the guy was over-served and lost his balance. The average cost of an inmate is $30,929 in the state of Illinois; I would rather have my tax’s go toward something a little more constructive than imprisoning a harmless 21 year old college frat boy. Hell I’d rather the money go toward the man’s hospital bills. I hope you feel a little safer that one less killer is off the streets tonight.‘Eye roll’
