anyone know what happened at Francis and Townline?

Did you witness the accidnet at Francis and Townline on May 9th? If so, I would like to talk to you. I know what happened.

No, just saw all the EMS and wondered what happened. Heard it was there. Live a bit further west. Nothing in the local papers that I saw but heard Francis was still closed down after midnight.

I heard that a 16 yr old kid was drag racing on Townline and didn't stop at the stop sign on Francis. 2 or 3 people were killed.

How horrible. I wondered after I saw the first two ambulances go by with lights and sirens and the next three with just lights. My thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.

I am a relative of the victims in the collision. I would like to know anything that you could tell me about the collision and in particular any information you have heard regarding drag racing. Or anyone who knows anything else or has heard anything about the collision, would be very much appreciated.

I find it very strange that there was nothing in any of the newspapers about this. Did I miss something? I heard all my information second hand so I don't know how accurate everything is. The kid is supposedly from a wealthy(?) family in Mokena.The person who had this information said that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened to this kid, the way he was driving. I'll see if I can get some more information. Are you getting the runaround?

Was sitting on the deck that night and saw all the emergency vehicles and wondered. No one seems to know what happened. I did hear drag racing but that was about it. My family members survived the collision, the injuries are very very serious, but thanks to some great doctors they both survived. It is my understanding that the teenage driver and his passenger also survived and that they escaped with relatively minor injures. I have also come across information that the teenage driver is from an extremely wealthy family and in fact at 17 years old has a Ferrari a Bentley and the customized Chrysler 300, which was the car he was driving during the collision. It is also my understanding that he was racing with another kid in an Audi and that he was doing in excess of 60 mph in residential Mokena. I am shocked that nothing has been posted in the media at all. I don't believe that this kid should have been given these kinds of cars as he was obviously not responsible enough. I am very interested to learn more about his reputation as a reckless driver. I believe that someone including his parents should be held accountable for this collision for giving him those cars. No one should drive through residential neighborhoods like this. Any information you have about the kid or his driving habits or anyone who has such information would be greatly appreciated.

She is the one that would have more info about his driving habits.I gave her info on how to get on this website & explained that you were looking for all info related to this accident and his history of poor driving. There were only 2 cars that were actually in the collision. The car that the extremly rich kid was racing with (the Audi) didn't hit anything. There were actually no fatalities, although the early reports were that there were multiple fatalities. Thank you for passing on the information about this site. I have been hearing lots of things second and third hand about the teenager who caused the collision, I would like to talk to someone with firsthand knowledge of his driving habits and reputation. I really appreciate your help and prayers.

Thank you both "concerned neighbor" and "curious", the more I learn about the teenage driver and his parents, the more afraid I am that justice will not be done.(there is info on the internet that they live in an 18,000 sqaure foot mansion, and that his father was a big contributor to former Gov. Ryan, that his father recieved state business for his HMO company, which went bankrupt after his father made millions leaving many people's hospital bills unpaid) It looks like my family will probably have to hire an attorney when they are feeling up to it. Would either of you be willing to let me have your contact information just in case you could be useful down the road. I will not invloved you unnecessarily. I realize that all your information is second hand, but second hand info is better than none. I hope that this matter invlove litigation, but as medical bills begin to add up (already over $150,000.00) and the lack of an acknowlegment of responsilibity, it looks like it may. Anyway I have no other names as of right now, whihc is strange beciase I know that severla kind people help put at the scene of the collision.

I do know that your friend thought he killed two people and that he has shown absolutely no regret remorse or sorrow. I also know that the two people he injured did not deserve this and that their lives will NEVER be the same. I don't think there is anything else to know.

You are right that accidents happen, however doing in excess of 60 mph down a residential street blowing through an intersection with a stop sign without even slowing down is no accident. Who do you think should be blamed? And what about the fact that your friend has shown no remorse, yes he sounds like a really good guy.
