What can change is Awareness - Awareness of young parents without support, drug & alcohol programs to prevent young parents from abusing substances & their children, talking to teen's who are searching for love and have unprotected sex. But it takes COURAGE to stand up and say this was wrong, we have to change, this cannot happen anymore - rather than finger pointing, name calling, acting like immature, ignorant children on a playground. Anyone who has lived in dysfunction whether as a child, abuser, or spouse and has escaped the dysfunction that wants to make a difference can - just one baby saved is a start. AA, NA, Al-Anon, Al-a-teen are free, they do not judge, they work!

So rather than blame this, that, him, her, get up, volunteer at a meeting, a children's shelter, coach PAL, do something to make that difference or choose to sit on your rear blaming others, the system, while collecting welfare & food stamps and waiting for someone to fix it! That's what this country is founded on; love it or leave it!

arent you pointing fingers right now in this blog... the tragedy of this story has nothing do with the parents being to young, drugs or even alcohol.

To Family of Jayda - it has nothing to do with pointing fingers and everything to do with not being in "denial" - you can be part of the problem; or you can choose to be part of the solution... Here we are a few year's down the road and I have not seen any member of this tragedy choose to be part of the solution.... all we see is hate, blame, and shame... you may be fooling yourself but you're not fooling the rest of us who can see right through the denial.

This tragedy had many contributing factors that resulted in this tragedy; it wasn't just one random act that resulted in this tragedy, were you around to see warning signs, did you do anything, or just sit back and pretend that nothing was wrong? If you really are honest with yourself you know that there were signs. Young parents need support. Babies are a lot of work, demanding hours, colicy, sometimes teething. They don't come with a instruction book; so what do young parents do? Remember the poem "Children learn what they live? This is a FAMILY disease, can't you see beyond your denial to break the dysfunction? Don't you want to have Jayda's short little life make a difference in some other little one's chance at a life? Or do you just want to sit and point fingers until you're older and even more bitter? Don't let this angel's life be in vain....quit whining and make a difference; start a foundation in her memory for young parents to learn a new way.

You are basically talking like a textbook and reading from a pamphlet from an AA meeting. You obviously have no clue the background of this case or the parties involved. I on the other hand am deeply involved, I am not the mother or Randy who was NOT the father nor raising this child in any way shape or form. If you must know there were no in your face signs and if a doctor would of diagnosed a baby as having broken ribs, instead of stating it was normal, this baby might have been saved. See big mouth did you know all that, bet you didn't. The mother was a wonderful parent and still is and she wasn't to young to be raising a baby, but you must of known that right? The comments in this blog are for the most part pointing fingers in the correct direction, hey did you know he confessed I'm sure you did. I'm glad you are sooo into helping others and blah blah blah, but help us all out and get a life and stop making dumb comments that basically have absolutely nothing to do with this case nor blog. Randy deserves to die and Amanda should pull the plug END OF STORY! Do you have a meeting she can go to for that, how to properly execute someone? Does AA or Al-ion run this one? You must be a relative to this man. You do know a lot of facts I will give you that! But what you have mentioned over and over in your message is "people turning thier back on one another" This is not about friendship. I have read all the letters and all of the reports myself and I am sorry, but if you did not harm a baby in anyway you would fight that fact till you were dead. Randy DOES in fact state a couple diffrent times that he MAY HAVE harmed Jayda on accident. He aslo states that he DID in fact turn her over forcefully and lay her face down onto the sofa. Who does that? If you are a parent to any child weather it be your blood or not you do not treat a 3 Month old child like that. Randy addmitted to what he did and than when he was looking at a life sentace he changed his mind. This case is def. a messy one and there are some things that do not make a lot of sense even to myself but if you read carefully between the lines it is very clear what happened. My personal opinon is that Randy and Amanda should both be sitting there. Im sorry but you notice burses on your baby and you think they are coming from her bath? That is so insane to even think it makes me sick. She was a young mom that wanted to party and let her boyfriend harm her baby. Did anyone see the photos of her 1 week after Jayda died? She was dancing on a table drunk at a club. Wow!! That's one sad mama for you! Well his trial starts March 5th and I hope we all find something out because this has taken 5 years and still no justice for that poor baby girl.

I've been reading this thread since the start. I agree with what you are saying. How were you able to read the letters? I'd be interested in seeing them myself.

Ok so you think amanda was at a club a week later....try again...u have no idea what the hell ur talking about..and amanda took jayda to the doctors several times for the bruises..if u have read the letters u must know amanda...and if this is how u really feel about her then why dont you man up and tell her...this is sick!!

Wow I see you know a lot of facts about this case but I guess the facts of what happen the weeks after are not quite clear to you. Fact one bruises from the bath tub, you make it sound like the baby was beaten and bruised. No it was a bruise here and there something that would never ever be linked to child abuse. Every time anything was noticed on this baby she was at the doctor the next day, so why aren't you asking why isn't the doctor in jail for not noticing anything because it was very well hidden by a sneaky devil. Fact two dancing on a table a week after, you must of seen some pictures and take that as partying. Well if you were there and saw then you know what happen and obviously you didn't. Fact three, hey miss I know everything about everything the case is scheduled for trial in August not March. Wow looks like I might know more than you, but hey I have actually facts im not piecing information together and then filling the holes with my own ridiculous thoughts. The bruises were behind her ear, on her poor little legs and on her bottom. They were not little. It was very clear they were from violance. I'm not here to fight with anyone or argue over the facts or who knows more about this case. To be honest with you I don't care what any of you think. I know what was on her body and it was very sad. If her mother took her to the hospital yay for her, that does not make her a better person. She let a guy that she didnt even know move in with her after only weeks of meeting him over myspace. She was still prego when she starting dating him. Just the thought of that makes me want to barf. What a good mom! Than she has him move in with her. WOW!! How did she know that he was not a crazy person? or was he? Im not the one to point the finger but come on... its common sense. My heart gos out to baby jayda. I hope justice comes soon. Yes the Trail is in Aug. but pre-trial is in March silly!! And must have seen some pictures!! Umm yes I saw some pictures of her dancing on a table dated just a couple weeks after baby jayda passed. I guess the pictures i saw were someone else?????????? WRONG!!!!!!! Have a great day.

I know randy and i know Amanda. IV been to there upstairs apartment in waterford and meat there roommates and prolly meat alot of u posting on here. And wen the sheriff's came in the middle of the night I'm the one that drove from Stockton to waterford and 230 in the morning 6years ago to help deal with all of this and being the god fearing man I am it brakes my heart that this beautiful lil baby girl isn't here today she truly was a wonderful gift of life. That being said to my family posting back to this nonsence I understand he may be the father of ur son or ur daughter and i love u for ur loyalty and to my cousins our grandfather didn't raise u to lower urselfs to there level and to the family of jayda u have no idea how sorry I am for u but the point is god don't like ugly and this conflict is ugly. Let this angel rest and let the truth be in gods hands. I know Randy's true colors better than any of u and i know ill see my brother again. Not in a jail.

When is jayda gonna have justice? He might be still sitting in jail but he hasn't PAYED for what he did. He knows the truth and has to live with what he did for the rest of he's sad life. I hope he see's her beautiful face every night and wakes up to cries and relizes he the reason shes not here.
