REICHLEY didn't have a problem with his pay raise a few years back.(Neither did some of the other so-called "public servants".) I recall him saying something about "thinking of his future"........

Hmmmmm. I don't think that a plan to cut 84 million dollars in funding will only effect "just administrative staff." If it does these people should be out of there.Messing with the State Police is just a bad idea.
If you want to see crime go up overnight, that's the way to do it.I would like to know if these lawmakers would be willing to take a paycut. Is it public knowledge what these guys make? Maybe that's where the budgets cuts should start. With the politicians who are coming up with these crazy ideas.Taxes are going up. Budget cuts. People are losing their jobs. What next?Do they want my first born?(you can't have him LOL!) |

I'm not familiar with the guy(Reichley) but he didn't sound very convincing or intelligent defending this nonsense.Do you remember what his raise was? I'm sure if we really knew what was spent by these guys in the course of their job, we'd have some furious people out here. |

rendell must go!!!!!! all he is doing is keeping his pockets thick and not caring for anyone else. he is doing a bush job in office. and that is not a thing. the economy is failing and people are losing jobs and homes and this idiot wants to raise income tax and cut our safety.
I hope all you people who voted for Rendell are happy now! This guy is an idiot! I say cut welfare not police!
Hey Fast Eddie, why can't you and your staff take a pay cut and help us out? Plus, start investigating everyone who has been on welfare longer than 3 years.(Including section 8 housing & all the other hand out programs) I bet you could find millions there in fraud & abuse!!! |
Cutting is fine and should be done, BUT let's start at the top and that would be the governor's house, and all start in Harrisburg, then trickle down, like everything else. Didn't the state get enough stimulus from the federal government. I know I didn't, but who is going to raise my income like you raise taxes
Threaten safety? Have you ever traveled 78? The majority of folks fly on 78 regularly and if you ever see a trooper, they're leading the pack!
You are right. If they cut some of the welfare and free hand outs they would save billions not millions. But Fast Eddie is afraid if they cut all those things alot of people would move out of the state. I say let them move! |

At budget time, our politicians talk about cutting essential services such as teachers, fire fighters and state police. They NEVER talk about cutting earmarks, WAM's (Walking Around Money)or money from their own caucuses. Heaven forbid that they cut out political appointees or patronage jobs! If they did, what would happen to Pay to Play?
But, if they cut the political jobs, would we need to be talking about tax increases at all? |
Just a few years ago, the bulk of the state legislature voted themselves a hefty raise. Some of them did not accept it or returned it. Reichley made a comment similar to "I must think of my finiancial future. Since then, I've always laughed at everything he and most of the other politicians have said. They make a nice salary with even nicer perks. And there's been others who have been investigated for financial deals.

I think the state police have around 4,000 troopers. To cut 800 troopers would be insanity many local departments are folding because of this rough economy. It wont be long until you need an appointment to see a cop. The state legislature and Rendell are pieces of crap in my book. Cops, Emts and Firefighters should be the absolute last thing the gov should cut.

Now they are trying to scare us into paying taxe's They will do or say anything to get us to pay. Impeach Rendell now.

IMPEACH THE LOSER!!!!!!!!!! HE IS AS BAD AS THE NUT JOB NUTTER IN PHILLY THEY ARE BOTH A WASTE.they are both two face and should lose their pay raises because you need to do something good to recieve it. and they did not do crab.

there would be money, if officials like rendell and the legislators would stop trying to live like royalty at taxpayers expense. the governor should start by stop spending $6,000 a month for food and fire his two chefs. he surely can boil water, fry an egg and make a sandwich. i would say the legislators should stop getting walking around money. all that is a bribe for the people to vote for them.

I remember when that happened. Thanks for the info.I see why this would stand out in your mind. What a stupid thing to say.I've always said if we really knew what goes on it would infuriate us.The fact that these people have a nice salary, good health care, etc.should be enough for them, but GREED was invented by politicians. LOL! Thanks for answering my ? |
