Judge it!
Greetings,
My family will be traveling thru Mobile from Jackson, Ms. We will arrive late evening then get up early to visit the Battleship then continue on with our trip. I was hoping to get a local's help on what hotel would be recommended. I'd like to keep the cost ~89/night but I want a safe area for the family.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am coming to Mobile in Oct. I am going on a Cruise... looking for a Hotel that offers FREE parking while gone on the Cruise.. THANKS |

It will be hard to find a hotel in this area for $89. There is a fairly new hotel "Value Place" that is cheap. I am staying there now. For a short stay it would be ok, for a long stay it's terrible. They only clean your room once every 2 weeks, you have to take your own trash out, you can hear the person next door. But, it's only $28 a night too.

Don't look for "cheap" rooms, look for "safe" rooms. I've stayed at the round Holiday Inn ( I think the name has changed) and the Riverview (again, the name has changed, I think). The BattleHouse is very very nice. All 3 of these are downtown and a little pricey. Downtown Mobile has a lot of touristy sights just don't venture out at night. Also on the causeway there is a Best Western located next to the Battleship Park. Very reasonable rates. Enjoy my hometown !!!!!!!!! Hope that helps.
