anyone ever have this happen to them? Use to have dish network. Paid monthly bill by them taking out of my account. cancelled dish network. they said to send equipment back. they sent two boxes, one return sticker from U.P.S. waited for the other sticker so could send out boxes. They said took to long and took 640.00 out of my account via credit card. I never told them they could.

They did that to my step daughter and her husband. She ended up getting the money back. It came out of their bank account. I would call the credit card company and see if there is anything they can do. And then if all else fails, there is the BBB.

They took the monthly payments which was planned out of checking account. that did not give them permission to take it as a credit bill

The B.S. of all of this is that the place where you signed up for this did not explain to you that when they take your information to sign you up,they take your credit card or bank information then when you cancel within the first year they take out the money for the receivers or if you don't get them back within their little time limit they will take the money out! They should of told you this the day that you signed up so you would know what to expect! Call them up and tell them that you was waiting for your boxe(s) so that way you could return them, when you do get these boxes write down the tracking numbers, track them on the U.P.S. website, when it reaches the place they are going print out that confirmation, there is your proof! Then if they don't get that money back into your account call them up and let them know that if they don't get it in there within 24 hours that you will have your lawyer on them, and report them to the BBB.
The worst thing is that these people who deal Dish network are NOT looking at your best interest they are looking at what they just made off of the sale that they just made.
We used to deal in these things and Pegasus at one time and when we figured out what these jerks was up to we started telling everyone that walked through that door what they were doing! Needless to say when they caught wind of us telling people they let us out of our contract with them! A week later Pegasus went out of business. As we told them this is where we live and we are the one's that it would affect.
Good Luck, ream them right back for what they have done! Then go to the place where you signed up and let them know that you will start telling everyone you know the truth about how they are not telling anyone what can happen!

wow....I have two recievers in their box in my living room that I have procrastinated for more than a few weeks on sending back. After reading this I will do that tomorrow!!

if you had it where they deducted payment straight out of your account you had better fix it where they can't do that first thing in the morning. Bank told me if I didn't have my refund by friday they would retrieve it back from them on monday and they are also covering anything that may come thru till then so nothing bounces that we had out with no charges. Someone else told me they had it happen to them and it took two months to get the refund.

been tracking packages. they arrived yesterday. called them and he says yes that he sees they are there, now they have to go thru the warehouse before he can refund my money. He was super helpfull. I will call them monday to see that they get the ball rollin quickly. U.E bill needs paidor I will be in the dark!

Glad to hear it, and really happy to hear that you got ahold of one that was helpfull, those are very far, and few between! If you can try to write down the names of all the people that you talked to just in case you get one that is hateful, rude and tries to give you the run-around.
Sorry that I vented so much, but I'm sick of the way these people treat others! They don't care if we sit in the dark or not eat, it's all about the f-ing money! Wait til the dealer gets the screws put to them by these people.... they will find out that they were not standing behind them for support, but just to put the screw to them!

It was a lesson well learned on our end, and one that will NEVER be forgotten!!

The reason to write the names down is because they have thousands of different people answering those calls. You will never talk to the same one twice. They have call centers in different states.

Wife just got off the phone with them. I was told money would be back in three buisness days. This guy told her five or more. Anyone out there know where a person can get free leagal advise?

Got a full refund of our money. Thankfully my bank stepped in and helped us out thru this whole thing. Absolutely no over draft charges for anything and they covered all checks and auto withdrawls that came thru.:) Still have not figured out what we are gonna do about this thing yet, would like to see that it wont ever happen to anyone else. DISH NETWORK SUCKS!!! If you have dish network DO NOT LET THEM TAKE YOUR MONTHLY BILL FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

Its a disputed charge on your credit card. If you don't know where a credit card charge comes from, or don't agree with it, you can call your credit card company and dispute the charge. They will issue a chargeback, which basically takes the money back from whoever issued the charge.

Then its up to the company to prove that the charge was valid. Basically, make them do the work to validate the charge instead of you doing the work to prove it wasn't.

You'd be surprised how quick they jump when the money is coming back out of their pockets.
