Notice that list ENDS with the Senator that’s served 33 years 11 months. Now try to calculate how many have served 15 between 34 years.

Congressmen? Well, Dingell began serving in 1955. That’s 54 years. I couldn't find a similar list for Representatives;

Folks, that is EIGHTY-FIVE out of 435 ... about 20%... of our elected officials who have held a seat in excess of 34 years.

And we wonder why things NEVER get better? Gee, wonder why? WHEN are we going to clean house?

It is reprehensible that these people have held elected office that long. What does it demonstrate? To my mind, it is a clear lack of initiative of the American people to take an active interest in who is running this Country. I've had an interest for quite some time; however, this was a wake-up call for me that my interest has not gone deep enough.

To put this sort of in perspective: the Democrats and Republicans have taken turns being in power for over 150 years (since Lincoln)... look at how many people have held the same seats for 40 to 50 of those 150+ years or, looked at another way, approximately 1/3 of that time.

We need to push strenuously for term limits. Two terms - just like the President gets. Q

This just about sums everything up…………………………

This is one paragraph that should be in every book, in every school room, in every city, in every state, in our great Union . Our educators should make a lesson plan on this one statement and beat these words into every head, in every class, in every state, in these United States of America .

Profound short paragraph

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."*

What the, Get real and a mind "Honest Abe". How many promises have been made, and how many of those promises have been kept through out the years? All from Politicians who want to make a career of what they think is best for our country, not what the people think is best for the country. Quoting the old cliche from Forrest Gump " Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get."

Me get real? You quote a crazy old preacher and tell me to get real?

Please. Your next thoughtful, original take will be your first.

I have big shoulders Honest Abe, Think about what you just said. Think long and hard on your comment. It means nothing and lacks substance. Why would you say "crazy old preacher"? Do you not like preachers, or just old people? Are you a puppet on a string and believes everything the gov. tells you is the truth? Oh, I forgot our gov. has no crooks or bad guys. They are people just like you and I. So yes I said to you, get real.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
