It is sad that the 4th largest city in the nation and the largest city in Texas does not have a mainstream Tejano FM or AM station! When one goes to San Antonio, Corpus Christi and to the Rio Grand Valley one can enjoy the great Tejano music, the music of our roots but hear in Houston we are unable to do so! The only Tejano program left on mainstream radio is on KPFT 90.1FM every Saturday from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on the "Bailando En Tejas Show" with two Tejano DJ legends of "Mr Music Man" Gus Garza and "Big Mac Attack"! This show plays some great Tejano jams but the bad part about it is that it is only two hours long! There is BNet Radio on the internet but that is the problem-it is on the internet and not available to most people! There are many Tejano groups here in Houston that are not being heard on mainstream radio! Please call the managers of radio stations playing "Mexican Music" that you want a station here in Houston to play our music, the music of our roots, the music of our grandfathers and fathers-good old Tejano music! Perhaps then we can one day soon have our own Tejano FM station once again here in Houston! Then we can once again start to hear Little Joe, Ruben Ramos, Los Chamacos, El Conjunto Bernal, Albert Zamora, Tony De La Rosa, Chente Barrera, Mingo Saldivar, La Tropa F, David Marez, Los Monarcas, La Movida, Los Chachos, Los Royal Jesters, Sonny and the Sunliners, Augustin Ramirez, Ruben Naranjo, Gary and the Epics, Ruben Vela, Jimmy Lee and Tentazion, Gary Hobbs, Mazz, Selena and the Dinos, Laura Canales, Los Pavos Reales, Tierra Tejana, Los Unicos, Angel Flores, Isedro Lopez, Nick Villareal, Tejano Knights, Joey Farias, El Conjunto Madrigal, Los Home Town Boys, Rickey Naranjo, Roberto Pulido, Jay Perez and many more Tejano groups! So please support the music of our heritage, our beloved Tejano music! Please don't let nuestra querida music que se muera! Adelante con Tejano Music!

It is apparent that you don't know about Tejano music....it is recognized by Billboard and the Grammys as a seperate category as is rap, pop and country....and they know music....Mega 101 plays reggeton and you can only take so much of that and then you have to switch to some other station....I'm sure there are others like you that do not enjoy Tejano music and there are others that do....people have different tastes in music and those people that have a different taste for music that you don't like are not morons....so enjoy your music and I'll enjoy mine!

I am pretty sure that there is plenty of mexican radio stations in houston. I know of at least three. If you want to whine about it, go back to mexico and listen to all the mexican songs you want.

All these people don't know jack what Tejano music is so don't worry about it.....Tejano music is way different then "Mexican music".....It is as different as Rap and Country.....Sure the words are in Spanish but the music is way different.....Rap music and Country music both use English but still the music is different.....so how can you state that Tejano Music and Mexican music are the same.....it is as stupid like saying that Rap music and Gospel music are the same[both use English].....So yes, I agree with you Mr Dan that a Tejano music FM station is much needed and if these people posting do not like that music they can always switch to another station.....Ruben Ramos and the Texas Revolution won the Grammy this year in the Tejano Music Category for their album "Viva La Revolucion".

There lots of crappy music on the radio; there's Country, Jazz, Pop, Cajun, Rap, Blues, Cabradita, Tombora, Durangese, Classical, R&B, ect, so one more form of crappy music wouldn't hurt.....hell, is it so hard for you to switch to another station if you don't like the music you hear on one station, just how damn lazy are you to not change the station?

The person that posted and you replied to does know English! Go back and read it again; he posted in English and not Spanish dumb ass! For your info-the people that enjoy Tejano music are fluent in English and Spanish! Tejano music fans are legal citizens, born in the USA, served in the United States military and speak English at work and at home and love our country-the USA!

there are several diffrent types of mexican music, you have tejano, nortena, bachata, gupanos, reggeaton, chicano, kumbias, and duranguese...and alot of the radio stations play them, but there isnt a specfic radio station for Tejano, i personally only like Emilio and Los Home Town Boys, as for the tejano, But im in Love with duranguense...but i am kind of mad that they took away 93.3 to make another mexican station with the same type of music as 98.5 and 104.9 and 102.1.
