I don't pay union dues and I'm as happy as a pig in a ditch.<quoted text>
You are a moron. Government employees' are not greedy. Government employees' pay the same taxes that you do. Government employees' pay the same union dues, probably more, that you do. I personally blame the unions. The unions talk about saving jobs. Do you ever hear about unions REDUCING union dues? NOOOOOO. All the unions care about in my opinion is their pockets. Were the union heads agreeable to reducing union dues that would also save jobs. But, reducing union dues will never happen.
All I hear about is that local governments based their budgets on Federal and State revenue sources. If both the Federal and State Government want to increase their revenue eliminate the exemption for Federal and State vehicles from paying the vehicle registration fees. The only vehicles that should be exempt from paying vehicle registration and license fees should be police & fire vehicles.
I am tired of hearing about the budget deficits that school districts have. What the hell is the state doing with the money received from both the lotto and lottery tickets? Where does all that money go? I would like to see an independent audit of the state lottery commission to see exactly how much money is received on an annual basis and where exactly that money has gone or is going. I don't believe that it was the intent of the electorate to have billions and billions of dollars spent on new schools. The primary intent should be placed on the students and making sure that they have the tools necessary to receive a quality education.
I personally am tired of being taxed and taxed and taxed. The only thing taxes do in my mind is to reduce the net income I receive. Reduced net income only means less spending.

I want a tax cut, lay off more public workers.
I want a pension, lay off more city workers.
I want dodger tickets, lay off the gay mayor.
Layoffs, such a wonderful word.
Mas, Mas, Mas
ALL this, and tomorrow, only 350 will be gone.
Well, it's a start.
Today's kids are not the future. They will be in such huge debt on their credit cards and student loans and Best Buy cards that they won't be paying for anybody's social security--so screw them.
In Las Vegas they really HATE firefighters because they are bankrupting the city.
I don't want to lay all of them off.
I want to figgure out how many it would take to do the job if a for profit private company did the same job, and then let the same number of government workers do that work.
Of couse some would get cut, and I want to see them keep the best workers, not the most senior workers, when they make those cuts.
And I also want them to survey the private sector and offer pay and benifits that are at a fair market price, not some outrageous level that only government workers get.
I never mind paying a fair market price for anything, including government services that we need.
I guess that brings up one last one.
I want to see all government jobs reviewed and every aspect of that they do justified with valid explanation of why each thing they do can not be done away with, and if their doing anything that is a repeat of something done by another department, or isn't really necessary, do away with it.
No more bean counting just for the sake of bean counting. If there isn't a law that requires something be done, don't do it. If the service can be bought for less than what it takes for the government to do it, let the private sector take over.
We shouldn't be taxing ourselves more so that we can hand our hard earned money to government workers who produce things we really don't need in the first place.
As a Government employee with more than 25 years service I have never been asked to vote on eliminating a union.
Believe it or not unions do not always keep demanding more and more money for members. Unions provide protection for their members. One other comment. You need to learn how to spell. It's benEfits, not benifits.
Why do you believe that all government employees' should allow salaries to be "rolled back"? As I indicated earlier, less pay means less spending, less spending means less jobs. You really need to learn how to spell, it's senIority, not senority.
Of course you don't vote about elimininating your union, that's something that government employees don't want to do becasue the union keeps getting them more and more benifits.
But if enough of your coworkers wanted to kick out the union because they were afraid the union demands will eventually cost lots of them their jobs, like if the jobs go to a private company that can do it for far less, they could. Just because your piers like things the way they are is no excuse.
However you may have voted about strikes in the past, and you have the opportunity to vote on your elected union representatives. Do you ever vote in ways that would help change your union, or will you just cry and be bitter if taxpayers everntually privitize your job, because that's just not fair?
You can even do what some of my family members do, and refuse to "join" the union, even though that means they have to still send them money and then they have no representation... but at least that sends them a message.
Still haven't learned how to spell, huh? What are "benifits"? I've heard of benefits but not benifits.
Well let me list a few of the benefits I think the Union has gotten for their members.
Pay that is WAY ABOVE what equivenant private school positions get
Three months paid vacation a year
Jobs that memebers with tenure practically can't be fired from
Seniority based layoffs so bad teachers have nothing to worry about
A pension to die for, that doesn't exist in the private world
Those are just a few of the reasons why I think so few taxpayers care when schools dump the union, but then again why should you care what I think, I can't even spelll
But thousands more taxpayers you should care about are also starting to agree with me, and if things go our way, all the union folks are likely to end up loosing most of their jobs as the schools they work at are slowely phased out.
Why do you think so many of the public care so little about your job that they are willing to watch it happen?
I don't know why you think I'm a teacher. I'm not and I have had no desire to be a teacher. I have felt for a long time that teacher's today are "under worked" and "over paid". In a strange twist, I wish that I belonged to a union that negotiates "starting" salaries above $30k a year. 25 years ago I was lucky if I made $18k a year. I'm not sure about the 3-month "paid" vacation a year. I personally believe that teacher's get way to much time off. Every time you turn around you hear about schools being closed for, what I consider, stupid reasons. I don't believe that it is necessary for three weeks break for the holidays nor do I believe it necessary to have two to three weeks vacation in the spring. When I was going to school we were lucky to get two weeks for the holidays and one week in the spring.
With all your spelling mistakes I can tell that you do not proof read what you write.
You're right, I don't even read what I write, when I converse in forums; but I'd rather blame my bad gramar and mistakes on the fact that I am a LAUSD Graduate, becasue that's more fun.
I have always been amazed by how much teachers make considering the three month vacation they also get and then pensions to die for on top of that.
I always ask myself if I would be willing to pay the same to have someone teach my kids, if I had lots of money and conclude that the answer is no. I guess most people, even those with lots of money. agree with me. Even the ones that have tons of money and can afford to send their kids to the fanciest private schools don't pay the teachers that teach their kids that much.

Not Only Would This Have Created REAL JOBS But Imagine All Of The Jobs That Would Be Created By The Companies That Would Supply The Materials And Goods To Build The Fence.

Sure Would Be A Good Start To Reclaming The USA And Again, Making It The Fantastic Country, That It Once Was!!!
