Nude beach near Destin

One of the most beautiful (and secluded) beaches in Florida is located on the Gulf coast in the Panhandle at Topsail State Preserve, a Florida State Park. The beach here is about five miles long, with no structures in sight. Few nudists go to this park simply because they do not know about it. The dunes are magnificent, and the wide, white quartz sand beach is inviting. The best way to go to this beach is to enter through the Park entrance and pay the six dollar per car day-use fee (or stay in the Park’s tent or RV camping areas). A tram runs every hour (every 2 hours in the winter) between 9am and sunset. The tram will take you to the beach access walkway (about 1 mile) which also has restrooms and showers. Once you are on the beach, walk west about a quarter mile and there you are. You can see any approaching beach walkers from a great distance…plenty of time to cover-up. You can walk around the dunes or swim in the Gulf nude. Park staff does not patrol the beach, and it is very rare to see a Sheriff’s ATV. I have visited this beach many times in years past with no problems. I sometimes see others go nude and have experienced some very interesting sexual encounters. This beach park is located just off Hwy.98 on Hwy. 30A, about 5 miles east of Sandestin in Walton County.

Actually, encounters are much more common just one mile west of the Destin bridge at a beach access. Park at the gate and walk to the beach then head west about 1/4 mile where there are a few old trees lying against the dunes. Some days you will have the place to yourself, while other days you may have three or four like-minded guys, girls or couples working on an all over tan and ?

We are looking for a secluded beach in the handle area. somewhere my wife can sun bath without any worries from gaulkers . what is the closest town to this beach? we are coming down in 6 days.

I mentioned two beaches in my original post. Topsail State Park in Walton County and a section of beach on Okaloosa Island just one mile west of the Destin Bridge. In both locations you will need to walk about 1/4 mile to the west once you enter the beach or just walk until you feel comfortable. Good Luck.

Although a bit farther away, has anyone been to Johnson Beach. It is part of Gulf Islands National Seashore. There is an effort to establish a legal or at least tolerated area of that beach for Nude use.

Thanks for the information. I, the Mrs. hope to check out the beaches, while the Mr. is in meetings when we travel to your neighborhood. Can you check out Thads.com and let me know if there is anything like this in the area. We were able to experience it on one of our other travels and had a good time, but I haven't had any luck locating something similar in the area. Thank you!

UPDATE 9/5/12
Based on this post my wife and I went to check it out. We took a short cut to the nude beach, it can be reached more quickly if you simply park your car at the Sandestin Hilton, walk out to the beach, turn left, and walk at least 1 mile and you're safely in the preserve area of the beach. You'll know where 1 mile is by looking to your left (towards Hwy 98) and when you're parallel to the large microwave tower located at the Sacred Heart hospital on Hwy 98, you're there. If you want to walk farther, have at it, but this area of the beach is remote and secluded enough to go topless/nude.

We spent two hours there (I recommend bringing some light folding chairs and a beach umbrella)and we only had about a half-dozen folks walk by, each time we saw them coming well in advance and covered up. I'd say we spent half the time naked, and it's also possible to have some discreet fun :-0. WARNING: When we were leaving and getting dressed, I spotted a white pickup truck driving on the beach directly toward us. Sure enough, it was the Walton County sheriff dept, doing their sworn duty to protect the world from dangerous nudists (so much harder to do than solving less serious crimes like murder, drug abuse, wife beating, etc.). Fortunately for us we had already gotten dressed and he passed by without stopping. If he had arrived 5 minutes earlier though we would have been caught. I thought we were being very diligent in watching for interlopers but that white truck blends in too well with the dunes. So be forewarned, the cops patrol the beach, and our tricky dick continued to head down the beach towards Tops'l Preserve, obviously looking for more penises and breasts. I suggest the Sandestin Hilton approach because it's shorter and quicker, with no need to wait for a tram. Also you're car is safer to park at the Hilton and there's a great beach bar waiting for you when you return with your all-over tan. Enjoy!

I have never been to this beach but I will try. There is another area I like to mention..It is Navarre beach. You can walk about 2 miles towards west from the public beach and camp there. Use big umbrella and a towel handy always I go there with my girl friend, but there are lot of friendly gay men hanging it all out. You can do your thing, just watch for intruding airforce choppers who fly by occasionally..

Hi Fred, there are no legal nude beaches in this part of Florida however there areas that are sufficiently secluded, if you are careful that are somewhat safe. Try joining one of the naturist groups in the area, they may be able to give you some more specific directions. Good Luck, Be Safe

It doesn't sound as if the nudist part is as important as the random encounter.I don't want to go to the beach and see you or anyone else nude or encounter the trist you desire.These are public beaches not sexual encounter areas.Why can't you do this in your backyard inside a fence ,there are to many rapes and child molesters that will take advantagage of these areas.Sexual crimes are common with tourist who believe they are somehow protected in this tourist area and become victims.Buy some land and develope your personal nudist colony and leave the beauty and enjoyment of the public beaches alone,you can invite as many like minded people as you want without infringing on others rights not to have to see your nude body.
