Why does anyone still fly on Northwest? All of their unexplaned mechanical problems after they hatched that scheme to lockout their aircraft mechanics.

With the high gas prices it is actually a little cheaper, to fly the 1000 miles in 5 hours versus driving 1800 miles in 28 hours, but the biggest reason is Northwest is the only airline in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina that we can make reservations to get to Minot or even Bismark. Besides more people die on the highways than they do on airplanes. My husband was on the airplane and although the noise made him curious he recognized what happened and stated that the flight attendents kept right on serving the people flying and never let on that it was anything serious.

That's nice! Kinda like the people on the titanic huh?

Oh Boy, here we go again. An ODI and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Actually, I don't mind negative posts in regards to aircraft safety when they make sense. And an ODI would justify that. But the burning question is WHY, when SWA (or other "union" carriers) gets caught redhanded, we don't talk about it and brush it under the rug? Perhaps the same problems exist there just by mere fact of the story. But at "Union" shops, all is well and safety is never compromised. See where were going? Kind of one sided isn't it? Which then discredits the entire posts. Tell it all or just say nothing.

And not just our U S carriers. Plus SWA has been all over the news ! And so has American. The fuel cost has finally cut into the safety margin. It is coming, and it won't be just once !!!!!! The replacement of mech's at nwa couldn't have happened at a more dangerous time. I don't give a rats A$$ what you think of unions. The safety just isn't there right now. To bad it well take death before the regular public stops to question why........ Believe me when I say ... Nwa knows exactly the chance they're taking. Once the indicators are met, they'll change their game plan or their reputation will bury them no less than Value Jet. Nwa plays a very dangerous game, and you either know it or are part of it ! You can play pretend all you want, but what will you say when pretend isn't pretend anymore? My bet, is we will never hear from you again !

You all said that "planes would start dropping out of the sky" just before the strike. Now, that was 3 years ago. Can you please reference the crashes you inferred would happen?

And how many aircraft was it that are being parked? Come On, you are so in the know here please tell us. So far I have heard 10% flying reductions? That hardly qualifies for "most airliners are being parked" Nice Spin Though

You said you predicted in 2005 more e-landings which you claim is now happening. Now, back your findings. Can you give us any information based on dot reports etc etc that e-landings are on the rise. Also, can you outline which carriers are having specific problems over others. Again, please provide data that is not biased. I fly too. So, let's see the truth Otherwise, all this is just rhetoric.

Try facing the facts rather than asking everyone to post their links to the news they read. You and old guy seen to think your BS has more validity if the poster doesn't provide you with his proof. It is all in the news... you only have to read it. A simple Google search will show you if you care to look. I will not even try to defend what I've said. Trying to get you to admit what you already know would be a waste of time......

Sorry... come on now.... This is not just a U S problem. The crashes you say haven't happened have already started to happen elsewhere. And they're happening to U S registered AC. The oversight isn't there, it again is in the news. Ignore it if you like, but your the one who asked for proof. Or more correctly... try to make what I say meaningless... Good luck with that. Your shadow of doubt is shredded by the news in print.

OK, I'll take that as you having no facts whatsoever. You are prosecuting here, making statements. The burden of proof is on you. Prove it or we all know this is just a bunch of rhetoric.
