There seems to be about 1 of these every week now. If only she had availed herself of her right to choose, this child would not have died in such a horrible way.

Another woman (if you can call her that) who has no business having children. Where was the father of this kid? Was he helping her at all? If he wasn't, and he knew he had a child, and he ignored that fact, he should be charged too. I'm sick of the irresponsibility!!!!

If she murdered her child she should go to prison for the rest of her life. Why should there be any less punishment for her than there would be for any other murderer?

which culture is that? Just curious - did you at least get a chance to call the police?

I think I would be afraid to get involved

I just watched a man beat a women in the face in this neighborhood...and no one else tried to help...a bunch of men just looked at me like I should stay out of it...their culture allows them to beat women and children...

What makes you think this was any more painful than some of the barbaric forms of abortion in practice today. Just because some women are to lazy and irresponsible when it comes to birthcontrol. How about showing spine and just say no to the neighbor boy when he asks!

Surely you could agree that with modern medical technology, had this woman better exercised her options, there would have been less physical and emotional trauma for both her and the child. I'm sure you're not advocating battering kids to death as a method of b/c preferable to choice.

If these types of people think so little of their own children, why don't they just give them up? There are so many loving couples who ache to be able to have children of their own and who are left hanging on to hopes that they will be selected in the adoption process. Before you decide that beating or shaking your infant is a great idea and spending the rest of your life in prison is the way to go, why don't you drop that child off at a hospital, church, police station, neighbors home, etc.? Many would consider that a selfless and brave decision...much more so than using "blunt force trauma" to a 13 month old's head. My heart breaks for that poor child.

I'd like to remind people that this woman has been charged, not convicted. Remember, inocent until proven guilty.
As for the same last name, my child and I have different last names. I assure you that my child has a more stable and healthy home than most children who do have the same last name as their parents.

I would advocate celibacy, then adoption.
Any choice that involved abortion would be murder.

I'd challenge you to read the complaint against her - which is here: http://www.hennepinattorney.org/Portals/0/rac... and tell me what evidence there is that this woman did anything to her daughter at all??!?

So far, according to the woman herself, she was in care of the child during the time it appears the damage was done.
I would be suspicious too....
