You are not alone as gas prices have steadily risen in the past few weeks, but the possibility of gas hitting $5 a gallon by summer as many analysts are predicting is very unlikely, says a Texas A&M University economist who has studied oil prices for decades. John Moroney, professor of economics and an oil analyst for more than 30 years, says the possibility of gas reaching $4 a gallon from its current national average of around $3.45 is possible in the next few months, but not all that likely. As for gas hitting five bucks a gallon, don’t lose sleep about it, he advises. Oil prices may rise, but a Texas A&M economist says $5 gas is not likely. “It is true prices have gone up in the last month or so,” he explains. “Oil prices are now about $100 or so a barrel. For gas to cost $5 a gallon, prices would have to be in the $140-150 a barrel range, and I just don’t see it happening. A series of things would have to happen for that to occur, and I just don’t think it is very likely.” --- obama 2012 come back on memorial day with a report of the highest gas prices in the country and a large serving of crow you pathetic loser

Down here in Texas Gas is only 359 a gallon. But the GOPEEEERs blame it al on Obama when in fact it is speculators that drive the market price of gas up--you blaming folks must not be able to google very good and unable to read the news papers , or watch the news on TV. Sorry I forgot you only watch the FOX comedy Hours. What you need to do is go to the U.s energy information administration. Lots of info there about oil, natural gas ,crude , and other distilllates plus heating oils and propane. Just stick your finger on the key board and start to googl;e. For your info we are pumping more oil in this country than ever before--Obama put his finger on the starter button and pressed on pump and it produced oil. We noe import less oil that during any oil executive in office m even the 2 Bushes that came before Obama. You Tea Baggers just need to learn a little more about the facts on your own tea baggers and oil production of course.

What they need to do about gas is charge the oil specualtors a large tax on speculation. Plus a tax on their earnings and a tarrif on the imports on oil that has been bought by speculators. Mke them cry a little and unprofittabl;e to speculate.

GAS TO $10.00 A GALLON WITH AN ATTACK ON IRAN? EASILY $10.00.
NOTICE SAUDI ARABIA'S OIL FACILITIES ARE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE PERSIAN GULF, IN EASY RANGE OF A FEW IRAN MISSILES THAT CAN STOP MOST IF NOT ALL OF SAUDI'S OIL PRODUCTION

We fund them everyday we buy gasoline. The keystone pipeline has no effect on gasoline prices. It would not be built & ready today even if it was given the OK Oil Production us up in the US under Obama - so no to your last two.

I find it interesting that absent of certain conditions which are prescribed by the Laffer Curve Theory, some people insist on thinking a lower marginal rate results in more revenues being collected and conversely, a higher rate results in less revenues. At one time there were no revenues. Then there were taxes (first taxes had to be higher than no taxes) and all of a sudden revenues grew. This has happened everytime with certain notable exceptions explained by the Laffer Curve. What they really should pay attention to is the EFFECTIVE rate of taxation and not the MARGINAL rate.

bush had nothing to do with the oil spike in 2008 just a Obama does not control prices today. The increases are due to speculation which the GOP refuses to properly regulate. Production is up, consumption is down equals speculative price increases.

President Obama has recently made COBRA revisions. COBRA, which stands for the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, was passed by congress in 1985 so people who lost their jobs could continue to receive health insurance benefits. Any employer who has more than 19 employees must offer this health insurance plan to their employees and their families for a minimum of 18 months. Since 2009, President Obama has extended benefits and lowered premiums to provide additional relief to unemployed individuals and their families. - lowered premiums, the republicans voted against this to ensure insurance companys keep on track with billion dollar record profits. - We have a man in office that has the workingmans back. republicans dont care about the common working man in this country. obama 2012.
