I also will NOT buy a Government vehicle from GM or Chysler, that leaves me as a Ford owner the next time I buy a vehicle. While I appreciate your info on why you bought a Prius with no regard for the price unfortunatly MOST car buyers don't have an extra $8,000 laying around to waste on a vehicle. In the case of a Ford Focus you save $10,000 over buying a Prius. I trust you will be very happy with your Prius as most people are who have their ego attached to the decision they made. Understanding when you have issues with your wonderful Prius you won't report on the problems, you know it makes you look like you made a mistake. We all know Prius owners don't make mistakes. VW Bug owners were much like Prius owners, theyloved their Bug even thou it is one of the most dangerous vehicles ever made. You think Ford is more "made in America" then Toyota? It may be better to say that they are both "assembled in America".

There are many components to a motor vehicle: Design Parts manufacture Assembly Marketing Corporate headquarters location Where the profits from sale end up It's important to remember where the parts come from and where the corporation is headquartered and if the company is public or private. Assembly location is but one part of the making of a motor vehicle.

"Toyota's Camry is comprised 80 percent of parts made in the United States" Every car is composed of parts made in different countries, that is understood. Talking to a guy who owned a Hundae and claimed it was a USA car. I stopped at a dealer and parts content was like 80% Korean. Then looked at a Chevy and the tranny was made by a Korean company in Korea. There are no cars made 100% in the USA but every one is different and worthy of noteing where it all came from. Of course just being USA made is no guarentee it's a good product.

Prius drivers are the worst, also. Ever get a look 'em driving these things? Most of them look like they need a shower. And they drive old ladies.

They do show their ego is attached to their vehicle. When I encounter a Prius I always make sure I beat them in a race, and they do like to try to win the race. Of course their pedal to the metal improves their MPGs. And Toyota is sorry they ever started building the Prius because they lose money on every one they make. Of course those losses are shouldered by the buyers of other Toyotas, didn't think of that did ya?

Ford got sucked in, on their window sticker they indicate a "Global Warming" rating. Don't know if that's mandated by the governmanet or not but if it isn't, they really need to pull their head out.

Air-quality study: Electric cars out-pollute gas engines A Chinese study found electric vehicles in China are creating a bigger dent in the environment than gas-burning vehicles. While electric car sales now outnumber those of conventional gas vehicles two-to-one in China, fine-particle pollution has increased as the “green” cars’ popularity has increased. Researchers found that generating the electricity used to power an electric car releases more pollution into the atmosphere than burning gasoline to drive. Particulate matter is a fossil-fuel byproduct that includes acids, dust, soil, organic chemicals and metals. The impact an electric car has on the environment is similar to that of a diesel bus, according to the study. The rest...http://dailycaller.com/ 2012/02/15/air-quality-study-e lectric-cars-out-pollute-gas-e ngines/

Perhaps I'll consider a dialogue with you when and if you come up with something of substance worth talking about. But, since that isn't really what you are looking for, it probably won't happen anytime soon.
