Minnesota Wild lack pop in 2-1 loss at Florida

Full story: TwinCities.com

There's some fight in the Wild. Not all of it is the kind the NHL likely will appreciate, however.

I know its probably coincidental, but the Wild was clicking and the lines were looking good...and then Richards pushed Mittens to the top of the line-up and juggled ever other line to do it. This is not a shot at Mittens. He is healthy, you put him in the line-up. But at the same time, don't fix what ain't broke. 3rd or 4th line works.

By the coaches own admission they were not prepared for Atlanta. They were again not prepared last night. Hate to say it, but I am doubting whether Richards has the knack for leading and prepping this team. They are frequently unprepared for games, they are notorious for playing one period like rock stars and the next like pee wees. That sure seems like coaching to me.

The knocks are adding up: poor personnel management & poor game preparation.

'Mikko Koivu, Andrew Brunette and Matt Cullen each have only three goals, and Martin Havlat has one goal in Fifteen games'...'we need our big dogs to step up'...wake up and smell the coffee boys, you aren't that good...period!

How many times over the past couple of years have we been told that the team wasn't prepared or the effort just wasn't there...Effort just wasn't there? what the hell is that!?...these guys are being paid millions to play a game, and they cannot put in the effort? what a joke! Of all the professional sports, Hockey players are the least spoiled and have the least amount of off ice issues, which I don't take for granted and appreciate, however; there is absolutely no excuse for lack of effort. When unemployment is as high as it is, and your being paid more money in one season than it takes an average person to earn in a lifetime, you have to put in the effort. I am very dissapointed and until there is consistent effort, I won't spend one nickel supporting this team.

Sorry I want to talk about the no goal. Is it not a rule that if the ref believes a goal would have been scored he can declare it a goal. Is that not part of the review. Even if that is not the case how is a defensemen covering the puck and stopping a goal not reviewable. The NHL officiating process is a joke, always has been always will be.

I had a similar thought. If the officials (Toronto, not on ice) see something like this, there HAS to be a way to fix the ruling. The whole purpose is to get the calls right. You review a potential goal and determine that it did not cross the goal line due to an infraction by the defending team should absolutely result in whatever the normal penalty should be. It's a judgment call (would the puck have gone in without the infraction), but isn't that almost all of officiating anyway?
