He should have been castrated after the first conviction and then gleaned for further perv profiling material. Once his usefulness was complete his remains could be carried out in a pine box. Odds are there would have been far fewer victims and a lot of tax money saved to be spent elsewhere.

What do you do with a dog that has continually attacked people unprovoked? You do not keep offering him an easily available source of victims.

Why is any time at all wasted considering giving a guy like this freedom? I guarantee that once he gets out his impulses won't be so "managed". Did they ever catch that level 3 sex offender who walked away from a halfway house a couple weeks ago? This system set up by liberals is really messed up.

As ridiculous as my views may sound, here's what I think:
First of all,if the country's current administration felt that we had literally BILLIONS of dollars for various bailouts, couldn't just a fraction of that amount have been used to build more and more facilities to house these animals, since we can't outright kill them off? My g*d, people like this guy, and the other rapists, child molestors, murderers, etc, if we keep turning them loose after wrist slaps, because the jails are too full, then either build more jails to house them, or change the laws to permanently get rid of them, but PLEASE keep them from the rest of us, the general public!

Secondly, If it were up to me, there would be NO more of this 1st, 2nd......5th, 6th degrees of offenses. I mean, how many degrees do we need? Let's go 1st and 2nd, that's all..........the law books that the judges, etc go by, would look like my high school drivers manual when done.

Just do what it takes to get the job done with these people!

Of course I haven't forgotten that SOOOooooo many jobs hinge on these people being locked up.......judges, lawyers, therapists, guards, cafateria workers, laundry workers.......the list could go on and on. I think that's the real reason after all is said and done, that more is said than done.

Most, like this poster, are naive. Rape is not motivated by sex, rather for power. You could lap the ding dongs off of everyone that has committed a sex offense and you would still have them-although I'd bet that the anger left over from the "tool less" offender would result in even more violent implications. Bad idea. But I want to see all of you pony up your tax money to fund this apparently ever growing program. While this might not be the "poster child" to be released, if they don't release someone they will release them all.

So anyway all of you that feel you have an intrest in sex as a business of incarceration of housing people for no better reason than having sex too somehow think your commitment to law making has no vilidity at all because if you followed the law then its not from the American justice system because we have already ignored the point of order when the law was mock passed in the dead of night. More over sex laws are the biggest waste on our planet. Seems Canada is more invested in American law than America is, and if these yollie yoakleys keep lying about sex their nose will grow like the sounds of voices in their heads, that right that is not god talking too you, it's your sycoses of madness, and need too abuse someone which is sick.

(1) Calling this guy an animal is an insult to my cat.
(2) Do we really have to make this about liberals and conservatives? None of the liberals or conservatives I know are in favor of serial sex offenders.
(3) If I sell 50g of pot to a high school student I can get 20 years in prison. This guy can't even count on his fingers and toes (plus all the fingers and toes of the judge, prosecutor, and defense attorney) the number of victims he has had. How is this not a life sentence?

Personality disorders are not like other disorders. There are no meds to take to control symotoms. It is not a mood disorder, it is an ingrained part of who you are as a person. People who have personality disorders do not become 'cured'. It is not temporary; you do not grow out of it. Sexual predators are some of the most likely to reoffend. Sure, he feels great now. He has support all around him and. What happens when he is left to fend off those impulses all on his own?
PLEASE DO NOT LET HIM OUT! HE HAS BLOWN HIS CHANCES AT BEING A PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY! HOW MANY TIMES MUST HE PROVE THAT HE CANNOT FUNCTION WITH THE REST OF US???

1) Why did he not get life in prison in the first place?
2) Since he didn't get life, why are people using reasons other than his CURRENT risk to the public to justify over-ruling the judge's original sentence?
Reasons like "his shrinks say he's too dangerous to send to a halfway house" are excellent reasons to keep him locked up.
Reasons like "he doesn't deserve freedom or forgiveness" or "NO WAY IN hell should this scum/animal be released" are excellent reasons to change sentencing laws for future criminals but are zero reason to overrule the judge who sentenced him in the first place.
To the person who said "Can we get rid of these liberal judges who don't have a clue what they're doing?" remember, the sentencing judge is probably no longer sitting on that bench and even if he is, he may hold wildly different political/philosophical attitudes compared to when he sentenced the guy well over 18 years ago.
Personally, I don't know if this guy will win his case but I do hope either the legislature or the courts force Minnesota to aggressively treat these 600 patients in a way that within 10 years half of them are in a halfway house or other less-restrictive-than-a-hospit al setting and 1 out of every 2 new patients are expected to be out within 10 years. I'm not asking for a cure, I'm asking for an aggressive enough treatment so half of these guys can be put on GPS tracking and night-time-in-a-halfway-house environment rather than the much more expensive environment of a hospital. I would also expect that of those that do make it to a halfway house, within another 10 years most of those would be able to be released as "level 3 sex offenders." If they have a stoke or suffer other disabilities or they find religion and demonstrate over several years that God worked a miracle in their lives rendering them a level-1 or level-2 risk, then they should be released and assigned the appropriate risk level.
As for future criminals: If they deserve life, sentence them to life, don't use the mental health system or it's cousin, civil commitment, to turn a less-than-life sentence into a de facto life sentence.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
