He'll make a good Viking. No respect for women, no self discipline. Doesn't seem to me he's learned all that much from his 'experiences'.

"I wouldn't change anything about my life. I learned from all the stuff that happened to me." How about the poor decisions you made, like smoking weed so you failed the drug test? Or did that just 'happen' to you?

What kind of a little kid did the Vikings draft anyway? Real mature. I bet he still sleeps in Power Rangers jammies. Saved by the Bell? Good grief. I hope he plays more maturely than he thinks.

This is very clearly a very earnest, very immature young man. But I wouldn't be worried so much as I'd be very carefully figuring out under whose wing I was going to put him. A wise mentor will do wonders for him, because he is so wide-eyed and unguarded in what he says. I'm with Childress here -- this isn't a bad kid, just a very immature kid. Though it's disconcerting to hear him speak so naively about wanting girls and being, essentially, educated by children's books and television, that is far better than being guarded, passive-aggressive (or actually aggressive), hood-eyed, and speaking of yourself in the third person. Let this guy get mentored by a Terrell Owens or a Randy Moss or a Fred Smoot, and you've got a monster-in-the-making. Put him under the wing of Pat Williams or Antoine Winfield -- or, if the Vikings were wise enough to utilize him, Randall McDaniel --and you'll come up with something good.

Harvin doesn't need to be a rocket scientist, or a patron of the high arts, or an alter boy, or a shining example to others, etc., etc., etc.. Can he play football at a high level and be a positive influence among his teammates and coaches? That is the only relevant question.

Please wait...
Best book I read? Cat in the Hat? What is he, six years old? That says it all for me. Good luck with him. He never read a good book in high school or college? A perfect example of someone who skated through the system because he was an great athlete.

honesty over anything else. He seems very genuine to me and until you see him in action or actually meet him....don't judge

Almost all of my employees are barely High School graduates and choose 'Cat & Hat' as their favorite book. It seems to work fine because they only need to use their skills not brains.
Sincerely,

This interview makes me really worried. It seems like the only reason we took him is for Chilly to save his job and because of Harvin's speed. He sounds like he is 12 years old.

"The Brother's Karamazov"? "Atlas Shrugged"? "Liberty and Tyranny"?...no, "The Cat in the Hat".

tough crowd! i guess you are not allowed to have fun and joke around with most of the people here. Sorry that some people actually do make mistakes in life but are strong enough not to live in the past and to still enjoy a little bit of life.
