St. Paul father gets less than 5 years for crushing baby's skull

Full story: TwinCities.com

Bryant Conrad Mendenhall The judge called it "the most shocking case I have ever seen." A man took his 3-week-old baby's head in his hands and crushed it, even hearing a popping sound as the tiny bones broke.

4 frickin years?!?!?! That baby gets a "life sentence" and this loser gets 4 years?!?!?! I hope to god they hand him a rope when they lock him up. What I really hope is that someone takes him out before he even makes it to his jail cell.

She should get accomplis to second degree murder attempt and he should get life. Both of these animals should pay. Why did this only get 4.5 years for one? C'mon. Pray for the little boy.
Why? Simple; it happened in Ramsey County. That is simply how Susan Gaertner
runs her office; always has, and will until the day the new prosecutor takes
office. Another case of "the most shocking case I have ever seen"; another
plea bargain. Again, Ramsey County.

But don't let the judge off here, either. Would have given him more time if
the prosecutor asked for it? This judge had no obligation to go along with
this deal. As the article said, the deal simply stated they would not SEEK
a sentence longer than the guidelines; it never guaranteed a sentence. The
judge, in true Ramsey County tradition, just went along and then tried to
shift the blame to the prosecutor. You know what they call this kind of
system in Ramsey County? Wednesday! In other words, just another day in
Ramsey County.

what a sicko. I say send him to Stillwater and let him be a boy toy for a little while and maybe he can sit there and think about what he did to a defensive little child. You cant tell me that mom couldnt tell what happended sooner than two days later either. She may not have have anythhing to the baby except marry a loser. Take the child away from her so that when he gets out her cannot go back and hurt the child more/ Praying for the child.

Bottom line is that these are both unfit pasrents. They really need to remove the infant, put it up for adoption without the possibility of visitation. The father needs anger management which is never mentioned in the article and a heck of a lot longer time in the slammer. Let's hope this does happen and might deter others from trying something this henious. Now the child will have lifetime issues and may need state support because of this idiots actions. Just a shame.

Bring this guy to the capitol grounds, have all the news people there with cameras rolling. Put his head in a vise, and while two black hooded men twist the screws on him, we get to listen to him cry out as he gets what he deserves.

Then lets go look up that judge........

If this had been an animal, he probably would have received a harsher sentence.

Agreed. Gaertner is obviously thinking ahead: In 4 yrs, 9 mos she'll be running for something, and this miscreant will be yet one more vote. Now if the guy had been smoking pot, owned a gun, or committing a 'hate-crime', we'd never see him again.

If he had any weed in his possession he would have gotten at least 20 years. Our justice system at it's best!!! Vote them all out!
