26 of Congress' Finest have voted against a bill that would make it illegal to spend Welfare money in strip clubs. Simply because the bill was introduced by the Republicans, these partisan fools have once again flipped the bird to the taxpayers.
They also voted down drug testing for Welfare recipients.
The poor have a God-given right to a lap dance every now and then! LOL

So, a meaningless vote that passed 395 to 27 has significance ? WOW ! Which of your guys voted against it ? Vote THEM out & have a nice day ! LMAOROTF !

"This is another example of setting policies based on attention-grabbing news stories with little connection to the underlying reality and that are designed to reinforce the 'unworthy poor' stereotype," said Elizabeth Lower-Basch, a senior analyst at the Center for Law and Social Policy, a progressive D.C. think tank. "There's no evidence that this is a widespread problem. And even when funds are withdrawn in those locations, it doesn't mean that people are gambling away their benefits."

I think they should all be allowed to keep their debit cards, so long as they promise to all turn up to a local Republican office, for a weakly flogging, and a lecture on how they've destroyed the economy, and America.

Wow. So they have to use ATMs at casinos and strip clubs because those were the only ones open. If only they had ATM's in 24-hour convenience stores and some banks had outdoor ATMs this wouldn't be a problem.

Lame excuse.

Nice you label it lame, but the point was often they're the closest FREE ATMs in the neighborhood. Feel free to punish the poor, if you really think it will make a difference, just do it physically, so the police can arrest you.

I am sure that also explains their use on cruise ships. They were just floating around in the Caribbean and the cruise ship was the closest ATM to them.

Are you still beating your children, son ? Love the "logic", where Olympic swimmers set records, so all swimmers can set records ??? Is there food stamp abuse, probably. DO most of them need help to survive, probably. As I said before, feel free to have the ALL promise to all turn up to a local Republican office, for a weakly flogging, and a lecture on how they've destroyed the economy, and America.

Now, for all those in Wisconsin who are calling for Gov. Walkers recall, heres Gwenny:

And yet Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wisconsin, called the measure "another effort to berate those people who are in the lower class."

You can't make this crap up!!

All state and federal handouts have abuse. It was mentioned there is no proof it is a wide spread problem but I do not feel there is any one actually watching for it either. I feel this bill is really political grandstanding. I can't help but wonder if all handouts were eliminated, what would happen? Would poor people suffer and die or would they find a way to make it on thier own?

Grandstanding? In Washington DC Come on!! No one begrudes giving the poor help. But spending money on strip clubs or other "sin" venues is just not right. Common Sense!

It sure didn't sound wide spread, but when you are talking about multi-billion dollar programs, even a very small percentage of fraud still ends up being tens or hundreds of millions of dollars.

I am so dumb and think those leeches need to pay a cover , pay the highest rate of any ATM because it is the only one close, what a fool I am. Wish I had a brain.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aquarius

The emotional atmosphere is quite potent under this Lunar Eclipse, evoking a sense of crisis. The problems you've been experiencing with a certain person lately come to a head during the next fortnight, making you feel that you have to take drastic action or lay down the law. Yet this could make the situation worse than ever, especially if you act from a sense of panic or desperation. Take things gently and don't throw your weight around unless it's absolutely necessary.
