Minnesota Vikings overcome Packers, themselves to move into fir...

Full story: TwinCities.com

The Vikings controlled much of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. But the Vikings were nearly undone by a familiar foe in a 28-27 victory: themselves.

One thing this game proved is that TJack was not the reason behind the first two losses. Good defence and Gus throwing is setting up for a loss. TJack should still be the QB. Good win but I dont want to here the Gus is better than Jackson because he is not even close. Give T the same play calling and with his legs (Healthy and not wearing a knee brace) and we win this game by 17 or more.

WOOHOO!!! Green Gay Fudgepackers fans, YOU ARE ON NOTICE! The week 1 game was a fluke...

Youve been OWNED by the PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS!!! despite spotting you cheesewhiz dorks 17 points from turnovers and special teams blunders, you couldn't do a damn thing against our defense! Your glory boy Rodgers had 142 yds passing and spent most of the day on his ass, twice in the end zone for safeties... LMAO..... Grant had 75 yds rushing, which compared to PETERSONS 192 isn't sheeeot.... LMAO....

Get used to it, Analpack fans.... now that our defense has gelled, you can't even beat us when the offense has a bad day.

I'm glad to see FatPig (McCarthy) get whats coming to him.

Grab a snickers bar, packfans, you're going nowhere this year.

My hats off to the state of mn, the mn vikings and the entire viking nation.. that is apparently a super bowl winning organization over there!! that is the best display of coaching and playing I have ever seen from a viking team!! wow, if I lived there, I would be making reservations to the superbowl!! I can see the team winning out now, you are on a roll!! and what a quarterback, can't believe we gave rodgers 60 large and over looked the gus!! the rest of the league better watch out now, cuz klink is on a roll!!!!!

Congrats to Adrian Peterson. He won this game. To be honest Childress should give half his salary to Peterson, because he is the main reason he still has a job. Oh yeah, Peterson now has over a 1000 yards and passed Portis for the most yards rushing in the league. Go Vikes!!!

Great job on the field goal defense for the Vikings on the game winning FG kick by the Packers Crosby.

The Vikings special teams defense did a nice job making the kick go just wide to the right, not hook back at all. Or was it the A/C blowers?

Hey IowaFatPigBoy,

Grab a Snickers Bar?
I bet you eat more Snickers than anybody here... and where do you think the Vikings team is going?
This team has never and will never, I mean NEVER, history tell us NEVER, will win a Super Bowl.
You think you're looking at a playoff caliber team when you watch the Vikings? If so, you're naive and ignorant, but that's typical of Iowan Grape Ape fans!

Wow...All this over a one point win where it would've been a two point loss if Packers didn't miss a field goal...I think you're over-reacting...

I think Gus completed more passes to the Packers than Rodgers did. Hey Gus--We are the guys wearing purple.. Saw Green Bay's coach make a Childress like challenge. Saw too much of Adrian's white cap. Saw the Vikings win a game in spite of poor coaching. At the end of the day I'm glad that we won and very grateful that I'm not a Packer fan. To any cheeseheads out there "How Bout them Jets!!"

Yeah, I agree... Minnesota holding green gay to 184 total yds had nothing to do with the win... neither did the 2 safeties, the 4 sacks, and the countless qb hurries and knockdowns....

Mr. Rodgers neighborhood has been graced by Mr. Allen and just about everyone else on the PPE defense.

Get used to it, Cheeseheads. You're no longer anything more than mediocre/slightly below average.

I'm looking forward to Minnesota duking it out with Chicago for NFC north title this year.

It was a miracle we won, but I'll take it. Frerotte needs to do some homework this week; he's killing us with those interceptions. You could see how disgruntled the offense was on the sidelines. Another skinking special teams breakdown! Nevertheless, first victory over the Packers since Moss's "Goodnight, Moon." Love it! Skol, Vikings.

If you were'nt such an idiot, you'd realize i was pointing out that Green Bay isn't going anywhere. I never said the Vikes were.

But that's typical Packer logic. I wouldn't expect a good arguement out of you after the packers lose a game we basically gave to you... LOL

Look at the stats!!! Did you think you'd win with a lousy 182 total yards??? LMAO....

Get used to it.

It's not mouthing off when you win, and guess what? The Vikings won
You can belittle our Vikings team all you want, but when you look at this game, the packers were totally dominated and the only reason gb had a chance is because Gus was your most potent offensive weapon. That's right, our QB was your best offensive player today.
The streak stands at ONE for Minnesota.
Better luck next year....

You show up on our forum after a loss?
After an offensive showing of that caliber, you can belly up to the keyboard and spew garbage like that?
We won't win the Super Bowl this year, but we just beat your behind and pulled in front of you in the standings.

not pretty at all...but i'll take it...loved the way greenway played today and yes i even loved the roughing the passer call on ja...the guy is playing hard and to win not to lose...even ad got tired of klink's sorry a s s ed conservative approach and talked him into going for it on 4th and 1...hated that he fumbled but...it showed some brass and if you have to lose...F@#$ it do it fighting not sitting back and waiting. special temas still frighten the crap out of me everytime we punt and klink still doesn't know whether to crap or wind his watch ( that's the downside to today's win )... finally great to see ad want the ball after his fumble...klink...you're a waste of space...GO VIKES!!!

I am happy with this win. Thank you Adrian Peterson! It was particularly fun watching McCarthy's reaction to the safeties and Aaron Rogers getting pounded all day. That Leber hit was immensely satisfying!

The special teams coach should have been fired DURING this game. Every second he remains on staff is one second too long. Childress should be fired ASAP. What was with the 4th and 1 call? Punt? Challenge? Go? This game is played at a level over what he is mentally suited for. This team has better talent than to be 5-4. Yes, we are tied for first in a bad division and I am glad we are. But the sad thing is that with our personnel we should be far more dominant. We are not perfect having a big weakness at QB and some other spots. Still, Frerotte is the best we have. People calling for TJoke are a joke.

BIG FAT supporter of FAT PIG in WI- Rodgers sure scared us with his 142 yds passing.... geez, it was almost as good as his 178 yds he had in week 1....

Your defense is awesome, they actually held AD to 192 yds, and didn't let him gain 200 on the ground ( even though he had 220+ total yardage).

Seriously, I totally am scared of the Packers, especially after this week.... what a formidable team..... LMFAO....
