Little bit of a knee jerk reaction, don't you think? Its the first case of a pirate being charged in 100 years, and our trustworthy legislators are all over it. Forget tax reform and cutting unnecessary programs, worry about a single so called pirate getting representation. Way to go.

No ideas to solve any of our real problems so a good publicity stunt will do the trick.

If we are withholding tax dollars from groups who support terrorists, we'd pretty much have to limit our tax dollars to... geez, I'm just not sure which groups don't support "terrorists" as defined by Rep. Siefert. I think he has just found a way to make Minnesota a tax free state.

You know, in America, defendants, even those accused of really heinous crimes, are entitled to a defense. That defense is often supported by various non-profit groups assuring that everyone has equal access to justice. Siefert is trying to get back to those good old "W" days of either being "with us or against us." This guy is an insult to our government.

This is more a bully's tactic. Is Seifert nuts? He thinks an 18-year-old is the big pirate captain? He can't tell the difference between a pirate and a jihadist? How does he get elected?

Seifert is not limiting his idiotic grandstanding to limiting state funds, he also wants to strip groups of their non-profit status if they support terrorism. So all you "right-to-life" folks who stuck up for the guy who rammed his truck into Planned Parenthood had better hope this doesn't pass.

Actually according to a statement from one of the crew this kid was in charge. He was also bragging about capturing an American ship and how he could get 3.3 million dollars for it.
