Once again the Obama administration and their dire efforts to "care for us" goes all stupid and unconstitutional. They are already being challenged on forcing people to purchase health care, either through their work, privately or by IRS enforcement. Now they are blatantly violating the right of a private religious organization to pay for something that violates their doctrine. And now they are denying their own soldiers the right to hear what their religious leaders have to say to them. I'm no big fan of the RCC but this is another example of how our government,(not just dems or repubs either), is taking huge bites out of our freedoms guaranteed by the bill of rights they have supposed vowed to defend and uphold. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stor...

Army chaplains have NO BUSINESS mandating behavior, except in the interest of the service. Sorry Charlie, the soldiers are there to do a job, not get indoctrinated by YOUR church.

What makes you think it is my church? And as long as it does not violate security, our soldiers have a constitutional right to receive any and all information regarding their personal lives from home. That includes information from their chosen church and it is part of the chaplains job to relay that information.(catholic or otherwise)

After returning from many a "mission" many took refuge with the clergy. Those who served know of what I say. Those who don't, should just be thankful.

No-one forced those chaplins to join the army.

So, because they enlisted, they give up their civil rights, one of which is Freedom of Religion? They joined as clergy, to serve as clergy and now we gag them concerning the very thing we brought them on to do??

I just crapped in my pants. Be honest, wouldn't you rather read about my crapped-filled pants rather than the other drivel I post?

Technically yes, they do give up their rights to some degree including freedom of speech and the right to a trial by jury, when they sign up. I don't know that there has ever been a directive from any president for any denomination of chaplain to withhold information from their flock that is not related to some kind of security issue,(as mentioned earlier)and Ideally there should not be. They should not be denied messages from their ruling bodies just because the CIC does not like the message. Unless as mentioned, it is determined that it is a security risk. I have to wonder if the Bishops just mailed the flyers to the soldiers would they intercept those too?

I understand, but do you think members of the clergy would sign up knowing ahead of time they would be restricted from preaching the beliefs of their religions?? I doubt it

But ultimately, they can't stop the signal anymore.

Unfortunately we all knew better, but no one argued!

Sorry boys, the army has a mission, besides "ministering" to the troops and your choice how to support them, was determined by signing on the dotted line. Do the same soldiers get to harass gays, because of their beliefs, NOPE !
