How about some Capital Punishment for the most severe offenders?

Sex offenders need longer sentences or the death penalty.

Sadly I am against most of the sex offender civil commitments, and that is due to ethical reasons.

I find something wrong with the state telling ANYONE that even though they are mentally ill they are competent enough stand trial for their actions, serve prison time, then after the prison sentence then tell the person that they are too mentally ill to be released.

If they were that mentally ill they should be committed to a secure mental facility, then if the staff ever decides that the person is competent to stand trial then go through the criminal justice system.

I don't think that all of the commitments are due to mental illness. They can be due to non-compliance with treatment or rehabilitation that causes the offender to be more likely to reoffend.

End the program, it's basically worthless anyways, as the offenders can only discuss known crimes within the program. Most offenders have committed dozens more unknown crimes, and therefore can't truly get the help they need (assuming the program would even work in that case).

Death penalty for people like this. We are cutting aid to the poor so repeat sexual offenders can have their needs met and receive "treatment."

When are you people going to realize that sex offenders, also known as child molesters and rapists, cannot be fixed, rehabilitated or cured no matter how much money you throw at them, no matter how long you try and "treat" them. Period. They are predators in every sense of the word and always will be... that is their nature. Even in the animal kingdom, when one member of the species preys on the offspring, the entire pack in turn, either hunts down and kills that predator or forces them to live outside the herd. Simple. These animals (sexual degenerates) deserve a "one strike you're dead" law in my opinion.

High speed lead injection therapy. It's cheap, effective, and pretty much a guaranteed fix.

the costs could/should be cut down. Most of them WOULD reoffend and non compliance of "treatment" means they had a choice to work the program or not work in the program...here's a clue-highly likly to get out and reoffend! Why do we worry about their feelings-the public/children are safer with them locked in, have they found the one missing yet that cut off his ankle bracelet?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOO-here lies the problem, it's like taking the coller off a roaming dog and never finding them. CASTRATION=freedom (maybe)
Quit "they have rights"--that should have been striped away when they took someone else's freedom & trust away and now are spending their own money to get help while tax payers pay for the offender to live life with meals/bed no worries!

I can save the state a lot of money, hot lead injection! Lead pill, whatever you want to call it. Bullets are cheap! I would gladly administer the lead pill if they need somebody to do it, too easy!

Prison is not for rehabilitation, it is to remove a threat from society!

No surprises in the report. Sad a Mom has to make her sons use the women's room because a child could be fondled in 30 seconds. Do something Minnesota; oh but you will not. Too busy enabling them with good food, Internet, flat screens, Meds and freedom. Why do you insist on hiring overpaid shrinks and reports that prove this: The Pedophile is NEVER cured and has countless and silent victims who have horrible lives from the damage as the pedophile smugly receives PUBLIC AIDE, housing and EBT. I will always believe that someone working at Saint John's is the link for Jacob Wetterling.

I believe they took the flat screens out. I remember it being a mess. They sent them to some other place and ended up being damaged. The government just can't seem to do anything right. If there's a way to do something they WILL pick the most expensive.

What are we saying to the victims of these sexual predators when we allow those that chose to offend 2,3,4, etc. more chances? If you need to keep the $$$$ issues a major factor in releasing these evil humans....what are the costs when they reoffend and keep going back into the court systems time and time again? It's a reality that most sex offenders are not in prison and those who are tend to serve limited sentences. Sex offenders represent the highest risk of reoffense and while coummunity supervision, oversight is essential...those providing these services are overwhelmed. Most offenders have 30 to 100 victims before they are arrested the first time!! If you believe that level 3s aren't being released check out Crow Wing and Cass counties.
These evil humans hold no regreats except when they get caught.
Let's start by humanizing the victims and the cost of what they had to endure!!

People watch Oprah and think they are sex offender experts.

Save prison and sex offenses for violent offenders.

People are being charged sex offenses for peeing outside, booby grabbing and things that don't even involve the forced act of sodomy or intercourse.

LET'S START WORRING ABOUT THE VICTIM IS CORRECT.

it's not victims fault some perverted grandfather/mother father/mother, brother/sister, cousin, friend found them....
If you have to release someone from jail dump out the petty theft & small time traffic and keep the perverted trash in forever. Spend less-provide them with food and shelter...THATS IT

Or some of us were criminology majors and toured prisons and interviewed sex offenders.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Libra

Someone is convinced they're in the right under the Lunar Eclipse, and they don't care how they get their point across. If there's trouble in your neighborhood, get it sorted out by putting your thoughts down in a blog, or on paper. Don't let anyone, even siblings, treat you like this, even if you balk at standing your ground under this moody cloud. Travel plans may be upset, and spiritual pursuits, and dealings with foreigners or people of other cultures is subject to pressure too.
