Who are the Democrats afraid will be deterred from voting? Illegal aliens hiding from immigration trying to vote for Obama? They must not have heard that St. Paul is a Sanctuary City for illegal aliens and thus they have nothing to fear from the police (whom are way over paid). I do not support the petition for mandated higher pay. But the Dems reason for complaining about the Police (whom support the Dems) petitioning for "mo money" on election day. For the facts on St. Paul's police officers pay look at this site. http://extras.twincities.com/car/salaries/ Vote Conservative http://www.wilgeno.com

I specifically asked Chief Harrington yesterday if these Bozo cops would be in uniform. They should not be allowed to even wear "St. Paul Police" on their shirts. This will not stand!

"A St. Paul officer with five years of experience will make about $60,000 a year" And that doesn't include a lucrative pension, medical benefits or overtime. I know a lot of people that would jump at the offer of a guaranteed 3.25 increase every year. In fact, most people I know are just happy to have a job right now. Get a clue coppers. Do you job and be grateful to have it.

So because they are paid well in someones mind means they shouldn't be paid equally to others in their field facing less danger??????? One of the articles said the Chief and Mayor are both paid #2 in the state, maybe they should take pay cuts to help their city? I support the coppers.... Soon we won't have any and we will have to fend for ourselves.

Is the Good Representive worried about intimidation or having to find a way to get the State to kick in more to cover the potential costs of higher salaries? 90% of the voters in St. Paul are either register as DFL or lean that way, how are they going to be intimidated Are those evil police in sweatshirts all Republicans??(I doubt it). This is another Chris Coleman plot to deprive democracy at the grass roots!!

So the DFL doesn't support the cops, however they support ACORN so the elections can be rigged.

In Minnesota, you don't "register" as anything. And the idea of sending cops to the polling places is shocking to its core. It sounds like a Michele Bachmann idea.

Spelling be damned, St Paul has seen a Republican Congressperson since I have been alive and that is over 6 decades. It is actually the union's idea, and I can assure you, the union does't endorse Bachmann. As for the name calling, I have served as an election judge in 4 Presidential election dating back to Clinton/Bush. I have voted since 1968 and being true to my word, I don't stoop to name calling when I disagree or take issue with people. Hope to see you at the polls, I will be guy telling you where to take off your Obama button.

Nothing like making an issue to counter the real problem. Why do the DEMS/DFL refuse to support verification of citizenship to vote? I think everybody knows why...

You said Michelle Obama idea, right Rad? Michele Bachmann would prefer that people show a government picture ID like a driver's license or better yet a Pasport or Military ID, which are the only two legal forms of identification in the U.S.

You're an election judge and you claimed voters are "registered" as belonging to one political party or another? Gawd, I hope you are well supervised. By the way, I've already voted and I was wearing a t-shirt that says "That One For President." Ha ha ha! I may have to check some of your posts for insults before the kids come by for candy.

North Charleston, S.C.- For a 93-year old North Charleston woman, casting her vote was a matter of life and death. >snip< “She made her mark, and we put it in the envelope, my brother and I walked to the mailbox, it was 11 o’clock Wednesday morning and I said ‘Mom its in the mail, you’ve done your thing, Barack’s going to win,’ and she kind of smiled and it was kind of a deep sigh, a sigh of relief, and in less than an hour later, she died,” said M. Fitzgerald. more at wciv.com ... ---------- Four years ago, we got treated to a dying Kerry voter who was sure her wish would be granted. Oops - they come out like clockwork with this same dying woman votes for the Democrat trope every four years. Here we go again! It's amazing the boilerplate stories the media dusts off every election... The extremely old voter who struggles to the poles, to vote Dem The "lifelong Republican" voter who is voting Dem "for the 1st time" (except they happen to be maxed out on Dem contributions) The dying wish voter.(Always Dem.) The celebrity Dem endorsement stories The celebrity threatening to leave country if Republican wins story And she will continue to vote in future elections, if ACORN is still in business.

Interesting side note to this election. My eight year old just got back from trick or treating. One of the other boys was sporting a McCain full head cover and would say 'vote for me' when the door was answered. The Mother that was hauling the kids around said that some homes gave him less candy, and some actually voiced their disgust. I guess it's the kids fault for politicizing halloween. Beyond that, the local elementary had elections for president, with Obama winning easily in my boy's second grade class. I have not discussed politics with him, or given him any reason to think I would vote for one over the other, so it is surprising to me that he would pick Obama over McCain at 8 years old without some outside influence. Could it be the schools? Whoda thunk?

These days the police do not provide much in the way of protection since they are not allow to stop illegal aliens, the drug dealers aren't concerned about getting caught and thieves know that no police officer will ever investigate any of the crimes they commit. Today the police show up after the fact take down some notes and you most likely will not hear from them again. We the people have been left to defend and protect ourselves most of the time. That is why the gun carry laws are so important. Because when seconds matter the police are many minutes away. Also, I just increased my public records search to include the salaries of Sergeants and Commanders and that ups the average paycheck to $75k per year. Also as I dug through the records I found many that were incomplete, inaccurate or misleading. There is no way a Sergeant is making $1,823/year. With he only worked one or two weeks out of the year or someone mistyped his info. So I left that obviously wrong piece of data OUT of my calculations. Had I left in that on really low number it would have reduced the average salary to about $38k per year which is completely incorrect and misleading. More info at my blog...
