And therein lies the problem with the current edition of the Republican Party. There is no room based on the current dogma for moderate Republicans. The conservative element that runs the party today is so into this extreme right wing platform that if you do not agree with it, no matter your voting history, you will be on the outside looking in.
Actually, there's no room for conservatives in this current Republican party. That's why I left the party in the last few years, as did other people I know. The current national party leaders are not fiscal conservatives in favor of small, limited government.

The conservative element that runs the party today is so into this extreme right wing platform that if you do not agree with it, no matter your voting history, you will be on the outside looking in. Just look at some of the comments about Republicans like Arne Carlson, John McCain, and even George Jr. They are ostracized for their moderate views. There should be room within a party for several points of view. It appears that is not the case in today's Republican climate. I have always been an independent thinking voter, voting the person and not the party. I might have voted for McCain if Lieberman (his original choice) had been picked instead of a complete unknown in Palin. But that ended up his decision and left me and many others like me with no other choice.

I agree with Joe Repya! The Republican Party is not about principles, they only pander to principled voters to win elections. The Democrats are no better.

Both parties are selling out our nation and trying to blame the other. Choosing those that caused the problem to fix the problem will not improve our situation. It is time to support candidates and political parties that have not given in to corruption and still stand on true principle.

For those principled Constitutionalists looking for a home you are welcome in the Constitution Party. Check out our platform at www.cpmn.org or constitutionparty.org

LOL. How are conservatives trying to 'destroy' the fourth and fifth amendments? Without explaining this, it sounds like loose bowels.
<< I also like the 17th amendment which many so-called MN conservatives are do not seem to be protecting now, as it does not serve them. >>
By making sure that the votes are counted properly??? More loose bowels, I'm afraid.
<< When someone states they are a constitutionalist, I also wonder when was the last time they actually read the constitution, probably not in the last 8 years. >>
I don't see any evidence that you have read it.
<< What I have found is the conservative=hypocrite. >>
All I see from you is hypocrisy. Ignorance too.
<< Being a constitutionalist is neither conservative or liberal. >>
You are wrong, constitutionalists are inherently conservative. Why is that? Conservatives respect the notion that the powers of government should be and are limited by that document. Today, with the Obama Administration, we are witnessing what Leftist government thinks about limited government.
Clearly you see the replies of Cybear ad someone who does has not read the constitution or understands history. This is why American is in decay from traitors to our forefathers and the constitution like him.

You have to wonder what kind of retired army officer would cut and run when his party needs him the most.
We have had some trouble at the county level with our Republican party, and it would have been easy to quit. I believe some things are worth fighting for.
The future of our country is at stake.
Thank you Thomas, well said. I love Joe, but leaving the party and voting elsewhere (or nowhere) will ALWAYS hand the election over to the libs. That is completely unnacceptable. Look what is happening now to this country because of that attitude!!!

The answer is to stick with it and try to fix what you see is wrong.

"More inclusiveness and compromise" (translation: become more liberal) is not the answer, either.

This was the state of the Republican Party last time Rinos dominated the party. They hate the rank and file of the party and would rather be a minority party helping along the cause of limo-liberalism that be the majority party working for reform towards less government and less government control over the people.

Then Reagan came...and Rinos headed for the hills. It is time for the GOP to return to it's grass roots and unload the baggage of these elitist fools.

I think history will show that moderates from both party's were systematically rooted out of control by the new ultra extremes in the late 70's and early 80's. Roe vs. Wade and the rise of feminism more than likely were the main contributors to this change. Unfortunately neither party will ever go back to way it used to be as long as extreme elements are in control.
The newer members for the most part have no real sense of those who cam before them.

Joe,

Tell me where to sign up. Of the many things Jesse Ventuira said (some brighter than others...), one thing he and I completely agreed on was when he stated:

"The Democratic and Republican parties are ruining this country. "

Both parties are so entrenched and so polarizing that they will and regularly do cut of their own noses to spite their faces.....

I am Deputy Chair of the Fourth Congressional District and one of the newer anti-war Republican activists. It's difficult for words to describe how happy I am that you are leaving our Party. The roots of your "neconservative" philosophy lie in Straussian Trotzkyite Communism. "Corporate money" influencing our Party? Nothing compared to the damage your military industrial complex (that Eisenhower warned us about) has wreaked on our Party and our Country.
I hope you will find a happy home among your fellow communists. Your days of endless illegal wars and military industrial complex domination of our party are over.
Obama is ramping up his War in Afghanistan and continues to illegally bomb Pakistan. Perhaps you can join him to satiate your bloodlust.
You are rude and crude. You shouldn't be speaking as a CD district deputy chair unless your district has told you that you can. I truly doubt they did. I have been a local party officer for years and you and your ilk are not the answer to the questions I am asking. You Paul people should at least change a few words in the talking points you get from the HQ's in Texas. It is disgraceful the way you treat people and the arrogance you exhibit.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
