I am so sorry that he had to be seperated from his family, but I am so tired of these people having babies here in order to establish a way in, if children are born of no legal - non citizen parents they should not have automatic citizenship. Come to this country legally or don't come. Yes it is difficult and it should be, yes it can take years and alot of red tape, but anything worth having is worth working and waiting for. Now you all can come on with the comments that I'm racist - well that is your opinion. I am a realist and we can not afford to support anymore people in this country. We are on the brink of destruction and I personally would like to see US become stable and solvent again.

Why don't they move the family to Mexico then. Sorry that a family was split up, but the family shouldn't have been here to begin with. These people know what will happen to them if the are caught in the country illegally, but then act suprised when they get their walking papers.

20% in Los Angeles County receive public aid

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-welfa...

One in five Los Angeles County residents -- nearly 2.2 million people -- are receiving public assistance payments or benefits, a level county officials say will rise significantly over the coming months as the fallout from the recession continues.

The percentage of people on county aid already equals the figure at the height of the 2001-03 recession and far exceeds the one in seven who needed help during the economic downturn in the early 1990s and the one in nine assisted in the collapse of the early 1980s.

"Parenthood does not exempt any person from complying with our nation's laws, including our immigration laws, and it's unfortunate that parents are putting their children in this difficult situation by breaking the law."

The above statement from the story speaks volumes. And after reading the story twice, no where is it reported the father took any of the steps required to become a legal citizen. If it was so important for him to live in this country, why didn't he? If protecting his family and raising them in the US is so important, why didn't he? I feel a certain amount of sympathy for these families in this situation, but the bottom line is if you want to be in the US, don't break the law to do so. Get off your butt, step up, and show you're serious by becoming a citizen.

Why don't we just give all the illegals a fraud form to fill out, listing the types of fraud they wish to perpetrate in our country since there is a special waiver now for brown, illegal mexicans with fake identities and a hidden criminal past?

This is the administration to push this little waiver through? What a F$#@ing weak government we have?

Hannibal police didn't check murder suspect's immigration status

http://www.whig.com/story/news/Hannibal-Murde...
HANNIBAL, Mo.-- The Hannibal Police Department had several contacts with Manuel Cazares since 2006, including arrests on charges of assault and burglary involving the woman he is now accused of killing.
But it wasn't until officers discovered the bodies of Amanda Thomas and Carl Patrick Epley in a Hannibal apartment Saturday morning that police checked the immigration status of Cazares and learned he was in the country illegally.
(Excerpt) Read more at whig.com ...

Missouri passed it's immigration law last May. It went into effect January 1, 2009. At this time all police departments statewide are to check immigration status. This whole notion that the police cannot obtain immigration status on a perp is ridiculous. The very idea that checking immigration status can be construed as “racially profiling” is a construct of the open borders crowd. Now, there are dead Americans because someone didn't bother to call ICE.

Our government is not weak by any means. It just refuses to do what we want it to. It has another boss now. The UN and human rights are a major part of the issue. The so called human rights they see as civil rights and then citizen rights. Where ever a Mexican is is Mexico. Something happens when a man goes into politics. He goes insane.

They mock us. Last year I went to some sort of Spanish goings on, on Lake street. Those vendors there had t-shirts that said, "They can't get rid of all of us". Now what do you suppose that meant? They're giving us the bird. They know nothing will happen to them. No child should be put in the situation that the story portrays. BUT! Too many times they all think that having a child born here is their saving grace. I don't feel bad anymore for the break up of these families for this reason. Take your child with you back to Mexico or where ever.

You may have a hard time grasping this, but times change. There was a time when the US needed immigration to increase it's population. That time has been over for about 50 years.

When someone breaks the law, they risk separation from their family. Anyone knows this.

Why are Mexicans any different?
