Yes, Kevin has acted strange lately. He didnt want to go home at closeing I heard. Shooting him was a very drastic and unjustified way of handling the problem. They should have called the police to take him home.

He wasn't shot because he didn't want to go home. The gun was a scare tactic and Kevin reached for it and there was a struggle when it went off. Will did not shoot him, nor had any intention to, Kevin actually shot himself in the head.

Have heard a lot of different stories. I am sure no one intended anything tragic. Useing a gun or pointing it ( In a public Venue)as a scare tactic is still a mistake and police should have been called to protect the best interest of everyone.

To begin with why would someone as big as Will have to use a gun for a scare tactic, he could have tossed Kevin out, or at the very least called the sherrif dept., like should have been done to begin with. Struggle or not, no one knows except the people that were there what took place; Will did not have the right to have a gun in his possession in the bar and especially
now that a life has been took. Thats where the whiskey will get you, sometimes in more trouble that what you can handle. My sympathies to the Parsons family and Will's children....

Ya, that is TRUE. Will is a good guy, just sounds like things got a little out of hand though. Sure is bad for the towns reputation.

Yes, had dealings with Kevin, and he did have some mental issues, all the more reason that should not have took place as it did, because Will knew that as well....It is all very sad, Kevin still has family that will miss him very much and will never see or hear him again....and Will has children that are concerned for him as well.

The Shooting was at the Mule Lip Bar in Mingus Tx. I heard Kevin Parsons made threats to come back and shoot everyone at the bar after he was thrown out. Will Coupland knowing kevins unstable history took it serious. There was a family member and wills girlfriend there he felt he (will) needed to protect in case Kevin did come back. which he did, and unfortunaly things ended like they did. I KNOW WILL COUPLAND, and he is a goodman. Will was protecting himself and the people he loved that was at the bar that night

Bring a gun into a bar is stupid and also a felony. Would the person still be alive if the gun remained in the car? You never show a gun unless you plan to use it.

Did Mr. Parsons have a weapon ? Mr. Copeland got a little carried away. I hope that everyone that states a threat will not be gunned down or accidently shot in the future. Maybe the toxic report on Mr. Copeland will surface. Hope justice will prevail.

kevin parsons did not leave the bar and return, and he did not have a weapon and again why does will think he is above the law to take the law in his own hands. The good lord will see him pay as well as everybody that takes his side.RIP Kevin

After reading all the comments I noticed very few sad feelings for the murdered man or his family. When will our society stop making excuses for bad behavior. In Mingus the life of a human is second only to beer and dancing.

Kevin paid the ultimate price for Will and his (Kevin's) misjudgements. Will was mistaken for threating Kevin in his and Kevins altered state of mind. Kevin was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kevin knew better I would have thought than to grab at a loaded weapon. Will knew better than to go out and get a weapon I would have thought. Deep sympathy is felt all over for both families and friends. We pray for everyone.
RIP Kevin

Point blank cops should have been called. If Will really felt that he had to protect his daughter from such a "crazy" man. CALL COPS AND GO HOME!!!!!!!!! Kevin was not armed. If Will was only meaning to scare Kevin why load the gun? Not to mention this is not the first time Will has shot at someone. He has shot at his own daughter, yes the one at the bar that night, many times with that very same shot gun. A man was killed for all the wrong reasons. The Parsons' family deserves some justice. I can't beileve anyone with any kind of sense would think Will intented no harm.

Deb you must not know Will too well, first of all you miss spelled his last name. Second Will said himself he went for the gun to make Kevin leave. So your whole story of Kevin coming back after being thrown out and threating everyone is as pathetic as your knowledge of Will Copeland. Also if Will was aware of Kevin's "unstable history" he would have known that Kevin would not have come back and done anything. Kevin just talked his "craziness". Will brought a loaded gun in the bar, if he cared so much about his daughter why do that in front of her?
Whoever Ftgg is, you are an idiot if you honestly think Kevin shot himself in the head. If anything he was trying to protect his life by taking the gun away, IF that's how it happened.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
