Fayette P.D and The City Council/Mayor

There seems to be a problem with one of the Fayette city Police Officers. He has been arrested twice for the same thing and there has been a great effort to cover it up. Now I don't know about all the gossip you hear is true but Clark Sanford and his mother Dawn Clapp (The city
Clerk) are both employeed by the city.
The funy thing is, is that Clark seems to be untouchable. Since his arrest in December of "08"
there has been one news paper article about it and the Mayor is quoted as saying the event is in the beginning stages of investigation. Well mayor Ray Nelson that was quoted in Feb."09" paper you have had over a month to investigate this what's the deal. I know that Clark has not missed shift nor been punished for this incident.
Should we allow police officers who get arrested
more than once I might add remain police officers.
It just seems odd that the ones that are sworn to uphold the law continue to break it and get away with it while others do not. That is to include the citizens that this particular officer deals with every day. The worst part about it is that if he is punished at all which I doubt it, it will slight. There are a lot of things that could come to light about the people in this comment I sure hope they don't have to be let out for some air.

Thank you, who cares from Chicago, IL that is an extremely insightful and educative comment. I did not know that people from Chicago followed Fayette, AL stories so closely.
You sound like a very intellegent person, so if I do not have my facts straight straighten them out and tell me the whole story. That is, of course if you really know the whole story?
I am just guessing of course but people like you are the reason that Ray Nelson is in office right now and Sam Black resigned as Police Chief and took a sergents position because if he stayed chief the newly elected city council was most likely going to fire him because he is incapa
ble of walking and chewing gum at the same time.
