New California bullet train plan a grand finale to years-long drama

Full story: Mercury-Register

When California's high-speed rail leaders on Monday unveil their fourth and final business plan on the state's controversial quest to link the Bay Area and Los Angeles by bullet train, they'll be slashing $30 billion off the price tag and speeding up the first leg of construction beyond what's been dubbed a train to nowhere in the Central Valley.

Correct........

Show me one public transportation project that pays for itself..........

If it was such a good deal it would be built privately......

But anyone with more than 3 brain cells knows it will be just another loser.....

What an exciting day for the Democratic Dictatorship in California. With absolutely ZERO oversight because the Party has a monopoly every single Demcoratic Politician in Washington and Sacramento will become MULIT MILLIONAIRES off the ridiculous Railway project. With an Estimated DEBT cost of ...$70 Billion...whose gonna miss a couple of a few hundred million?.......Obama forced the pitiful American tax slaves to kick in $3.5 BILLION to get the scheme rolling just last week. Calif Dem pols LOVES them some OBAMA.

What an exciting time for the least among us.

Eureka has been replace as the State motto. From this day forward PAY UP SUCKERS will be on every CA license plate.

This is for the unions and the rich businessmen who go from San Francisco to LA. How are you suppose to get to the train? A car? Then why not just drive all the way. Stupid and expensive. How about buying trucks for migrant farm workers. I hate to see a family broken down by the side of the road.

A cheaper solution might be for the State to buy 100 new 737's and fly people back and forth from LA to SFran for FREE. That would be far cheaper in the long run.

Irony. Jerry Brown signed the Dill Act unionizing public employees and now 30 plus years later the extinction level Legacy costs of unionizing public employees destroy any hope for a bright future for California.

You couldn't make this stuff up!!!

It won't be so bad for us. Our Union owned politicians promise it is our pitiful children will be the ones to live a nightmare. And, obviously NO one in Calif gives a crap about the children.

Take the bullet plane. Twice as fast at a fraction of the cost. Looks futuristic.

I suppose this is as good a waste of hard earned taxpayer money as any. I wonder, though, how many of the politicians who are proposing to launder that money in order to "produce jobs" are wearing American made clothing and shoes. My guess is none of them are.

It would have been GREAT if the State could afford it. All the billions in "seed" money will create countless "opportunites" to make multi Millionaires of the unoin bosses and the democratic politicians but the Bullet Train will be abandoned as soon as the upcoming Pension Tsunami totally overwhelmes the State.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Cancer

The question of who and what you should believe is never far away today. Someone could easily mislead you, although it's a moot point whether they do this intentionally or not. Or there could be a communication glitch that means no one knows what's going on. Be very careful when handling money because there could be lots of silly mistakes, and if you're really unlucky there might also be some double-dealing too.
