The judge convicted a bone head who killed a pet pig and we let da muderers and rapist go free.

Something has gone way wrong with this state judicial system.

Hawaii judges are the most liberal ones chosen by liberal democrats. Vote out your old democrats and start a new.

This is your chance to do something about it instead of whining and complaining and you will still end up with 40 years of liberal rule that let the victims suffer while the criminals roam free.

Start by voting out Hanabusa and Ambercrombie...The school system is a mess, da judicial system is mess,...

O'Brian BURIED Porky? Doesn't he realize that people somewhere are starving? Such a waste. Why, imagine how many slabs of bacon old Porky could have provided deli's for their BLTs, and all those link sausages that could have brought enjoyment into the lives of the homeless feeding on grubs in Kapiolani Park. And four perfectly delicious pigs feet gone to waste, not to mention all of those purse that could have been made from the sows ears. Such a waste, such a waste ... Well, at leaste his death hasn't gone in vain - the worms are having a real luau on Porky. Oink ..oink?

To Tama Samoa, What the hell does this conviction have to di about politics and politicians? Only an idiot would not understand the necessity to protect the public from the animals like Calarruda who would kill a person's pet infront of them. Calarruda was told to stop and went on to kill the pig. Next time it could be a human being. Calarruda doesn't care about the law, so why should he obey any law. The next time we see Calarruda in court will be for a homicide or assault in the first degree. Given his history, an extended term or consecutive sentencing is appropriate.

Calrudda should get the maximum punishment for his criminal act.

He was told that the pig was a pet and that he was on private property. Yet he violated the animals right to life and is the type of person that has no respect for property or personal belongings. He would even go on Kahoolawe and hunt if he had the chance, regardless of who owned the island.

5 years should make him realize his sins and might make him think twice before doing anything rash; and it might curb his lying.

Finally convicted. Now the sentencing. Probably the liberal judges will give 'em a slap on the wrist or give'em some sort of probabtion. The judicial system is the problem, here. Strict sentencing and mandatory jail time. Judges need to be elected and not be appointed by cronies.

I didn't see this on the news last night. This is more important than giving coverage to the person who bought his home with the aid of a convicted felon, also the guy that dumped his pastor of 20 years.

Ummm... we do have mandatory sentencing not to mention a "three strikes" law in Hawaii. If this guy ever gets convicted of any felony in the future, he will have life without parole, period.

You do know the law, right?

I think to the "justice" system of Hawaii the life of a pig is worth more than the life of a human ! Maybe the pig reminded the judge of his wife !

It's all about who you know, for this guy to get five years for killing a pig, he'll be the laughing stock in there. He should be punished, but I can't see prison time for this. Do some community service and pay restitution. Whatever happened to the phillipinos that stoled the dog and ate it.

This guy isn't a "hunter," he's simply a killer that is where he belongs. This is the same type of cave-man that keeps Pit Bulls as "pets," yet uses them to terrorize neighbors' pets. We've got lots of that un-employed type on the island. "If it moves, I want to be the first to kill it to prove I'm a real man." Have fun in jail, Donkey.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that this guy entered a private property and discharged a firearm. It's unfortunate that he killed a family pet also. His actions are dangerous and a threat to society. He got what he deserves.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
