Crime Scene

Anyone know what happened in the Spring Valley Addition about 1am Saturday night the entire police force and er showed up at Hickory and Clover lane and scooped up what appeared to be a stabbing or shooting victim, half the block is taped off with crime scene tape. figured someone may have heard on a scanner. nieghbbors said they where still searching the area for someone.

A Fort Riley soldier faces charges of aggravated battery.

Junction City Police arrested Jeffrey Needham, 18, Sunday morning.

Police believe Needham is responsible for stabbing James Glacken, 23, multiple times in the 1500 block of Clover Street.

Glacken was treated at a local hospital and has been released.

Police are still investigating.

I wonder if this was a lover's spat? Did the dude get jealous when he found out the other dude was cheating on him? Gay men can be real jealous of each other like that.

I think u should know what the hell ur talkin about befor u go and judge something because u never know who might be reading these things! I know the victim personally and that is not the case! He is definatly not GAY and it was not a lovers spat!

Thats to bad that he was stabbed 40 times and people think it is ok to make fun of...James is my cousin and I'm proud to say so. You all should go see him in Topeka at Stormont Vail Hospital where he's been and apologize. Who else was at the party? Soldiers don't go out alone so why didn't anyone else stop it before it got out of hand?

Stabbing someone 40 times shows real anger and rage over something or someone. I'd like to know the reason for the stabbing, if there is one. Was it over a girlfriend?

yes it was over a girlfriend. an NCO in his unit was having a relationship with several soldiers, including Jeff. what happened next is pretty unclear because every asshole soldier who is trying to cover their ass for letting a minor drink at their party won't say anything but unfortunately James was a victim. what Jeff did was wrong, nobody can deny that, however he did NOT stab this guy 40 times. I spoke to the hospital myself and they said they are counting every nick and scratch as a "stab wound". I do believe he punctured one of James' lungs though.

Jennifer just for your information James was stabbed 42 times!!!!! you need to get your facts straight. I dont know what hospital you think you spoke to, but i know they will not release information to strangers. Unless of course you spoke to Geary Community and they are a bunch of quacks. Why do you think he was sent to Topeka? Just for kicks!!!!! Oh and by the way he also had to have surgery to repair damage in his stomach. It wasnt even James girlfriend that he was stabbed over. He was trying to defend a female. I guess this is what happens when people try to do the right thing. I am also James aunt!!!!!

No one is saying James was in any way involved with the girl I mentioned. She is only seeing soldiers from my understanding but I can't even get her name out of anyone because like I said, they're trying to cover their own asses. Which in my opinion, is disgusting. How James was involved, AGAIN I will say, was unclear to me.

I was under the impression he was transferred to Topeka because Geary cannot handle collapsed lungs but if they are, as you say, "quacks", the information I was given may not be reliable. I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to call Topeka because I know he and his family are probably in a lot of pain.

I know several of the people involved, although I don't think it's right for me to list names on some website. I do not know James, but I feel awful about what has happened to him. I will say AGAIN, no one can deny that what happened to him was wrong. I never will. But I do want facts, I want names and I want to figure out what the hell happened that night that everyone here in Junction City and in the Army is trying to cover up.

Next, the Army will probably deploy him to Iraq or Afghanistan as quickly as possible so he can't be prosecuted, like they're doing in domestic violence/child abuse cases, cause we all know that no one can carry a weapon if they have that kind of charge against them,,and the military paid good money to train his a$$.

Hey this is the guys wife that got stabbed and its reallly none of any bodys business what the hell happened that night unless you ARE RELATED TO THE VICTIM!!! so stop trying to find out the facts to put some interest in your boring little life! and for your information the girl does not just date random soldiers! so anyone that is not related to the victim or anyone that was involved that night needs to just get thier own life and stop worrying about everyone elses thanks to anyone that was expressing sympothy as for anyone else stay out of it!

I want to know what the hell happened because I live right down the street, I have children and worry that some crazy bastard might be running loose around my home. I do have to agree a little with Susan, nobody deserves to be stabbed that many times. But there are some things "Stupid" said that make sense... It seems to me that if something like that happened in my neighborhood I might want to know why it happened and how I could stop activity like that, especially if I had kids. I don't know if anyone's noticed, the JC cops aren't exactly doing much for crime around here. Anyone ever check familywatchdog.us? There are more sex offenders in this town than Manhattan. I for one have called the cops about something only to have them come out, get out of their car, get back in and drive away.

Angie I do agree with you. "Stupid" just came across as blaming James.She needs to check out her neighbors and if she has any complaints she needs to take them up with them. I dont know how long you have lived here Angie but I do agree with you about the cops also. I have lived here for over 30 years.
