McRae Murder Suspect Arrested

Does anyone know why this senseless killing happened ? Police say, Andy Bland, didn't have a motive, but i find that hard to believe . No rational person would drive into someone's yard, and start shooting, without being provoked. There has to be more to this story, than what's being told.

As hard as it is to believe, it appears that he had little motive in the killing. One of the people at the party owed him some money, so he pulled it to argue about it in front of a large group of people. They argued back; Andy claims that one of them hit him. They say different. At any rate, he pulled out the gun, most of the people ran, and Marty (who apparently was a little drunk and confused) walked up to the window of his truck and got shot. Obviously, Andy claims it was an accident, and no doubt, he did not pull into the yard with the intention of killing anyone, but it got heated, he likes to play with guns, and bad things happened. Take from that what you will. He seems pretty guilty to me.

Why has this Murder received almost no Media attention ? It looks like the Investigators had a Bias and a fore-gone conclusion . They did everything they could to put the blame on the deceased . The Sentence that was given to Andy Bland was a JOKE !!! Three years six months is a slap in the face to Marty Staley's Family and Friends. I hope everyone remembers these Law enforcement officals on Election Day. Tim Vaughn, District Attorney, Pete White, Mayor of McRae. Pete White is responsible for hiring Ken Cox, the most incompotent Chief of Police , In McRae's History. GBI agent, Sheila Rogers, no longer works for the GBI, Thank GOD , and good Riddence !!!!

I agree completely. McRae law enforcement officials are a JOKE!!!And thats why Andy Bland is going free again in a few years and what then?!?Will he kill again?!?It is insane how corrupt our law-enforcement really is...

Ken Wilcox is the police cheif of Mcrae. I also want to know WHY??? this murder has not been futher investigated, because Marty was a good person and he did not deserve this, Andy Bland should have to spend the rest of his life in prison for MURDER.(not manslaughter).

The police dept did not prosecute the case, neither did they do the investigation all murders are turn over to gbi office and they do a thirl investigation. if you don't know go to law school and see how things are handle before you take judgement on anyone. that means a mayor , chief and gbi position go to school and learn the rules and the law. now thats a challenge or keep your bad comments to yourself

I have it that you know very little law also..Mcrae prosecutor and Judge were the people who gave the sentence and Mcrae Supreme Court were in charged of the TRIAL...the GBI only investigate for any evidence that may be used in Court, they are NOt in charge of any Court dicisions. This case was decided by the Jury, Posecutor, and Judge.

The prosecutor and judge may order the sentence, however, the judge has a set of guidelines that he has to follow while sentencing. The state prosecutor needs to be brought up on ethic charges if all he sought were manslaughter. If you want to talk about corrupt city police, let's talk about the number of property crimes that has sky rocketed due to meth and drugs in the county, or how 18 and 20 year olds are sinking 20,000 and 30,000 into cars that don't carry a value over 5,000. Let's talk about the number of accidents were no one has been locked up because they were at faught and had no insurance. Or hey here's one, how is it a drug dealer can shoot at the cheif's house over money he owed, or at least that's what the rumor is. I think if the city council and mayor can not reign in this administration a new one will do just fine.

Everyone knows who the lead investigator was, they also know, Chief Wilcox, was involved in the investigation, his input in the case can influence the information that is collected. If you would question just one of the more than six witnesses, you would realize that all the facts was not presented to the Prosecutor. I believe there was a conspiracy to suppress all the facts in this MURDER. I also believe the Prosecutor chose what evidence to to use in this case. I know the Sheriff was biased from his statement in Court, he spoke in favor of the Accused. There are just to many unanswered questions in this Murder case .

According to the State Attorney's Office, Tim Vaughn is the person to request an Investigation, this won't happen. Why would the DA want himself and his Crony's Investigated ?

I would like to know how much Blands Family had to pay, for this Slap on the wrist. This is a prime example where the, Elitist, arn't held to the same rules as the common person . Political favors, Trumps Justice, in Telfair County. This type of Justice, makes me want to "PUKE" !

Read the whole post. I am glad we live in America!!! We can defend, if we are attacked!! I think we have great justice and live in the best country in the world. Nothing is being done to the large group of people who attacked a couple of people. Are you saying a person should not be able to defend from harm.

Marty Staley wasn't the attacker. He was an innocent by-stander ! Bland was at this residence twice , trying to collect a sixty dollar DRUG DEBT from someone else at the party. He was forced to leave by the property owner. Instead of going to the Police, Bland went home and got his Daddys Pistol, went back, and started shooting, luckily, no one else was shot. Bland told the Police it was a accident and the Police believed him. This was Premediated Murder. It doesn't matter that he shot the wrong person, him leaving and then returning, makes it Premediated. This all boils down to this. Bland was a Drug Dealer, trying to collect a drug debt, and an innocent person was killed . You are right , this is a great country, but sometimes Justice slips through the Cracks. In my opnion, all the people involved in prosecuting this case, allowed justice to slip through the cracks !

You would think someone in Law enforcement, would have the spine, to speak out in this crime . It doesn't take a highly intelligent person , to realize the injustice handed out in this case . I feel sure the GBI knew this case was handled by an amateur . Perhaps that's why GBI Rogers, is no longer employed with the agency . It also looks like to me, the Law abiding citizens of Telfair county, would have spoken out in anger, either through the News Media, or , to their elected officials . It just seems to me , no one gives a Damn anymore, if it's not me and mine involved, leave me alone . That was the same attitude the Jews had, when Hitler was herding them off to the Gas Chambers ! I've seen a lot of injustice in Telfair and surrounding counties, but this seems to be the most Blatant miscarriage of Justice i've seen, for the type of crime that was committed !

Just standing back and looking at the whole picture in this Murder and how it was handled from beginning to end , any logical thinking person would conclude that, this is the most incompotent Law enforcement agency in the State ! How could it take almost thirty minutes for the Ambulance to get to the scene, when they were only a three minute drive away ? This is incompotence at the highest level ! The person receiving the call was to stupid to get the address correct, unbelivable !! I could go on and on, pointing out the mistakes made by these idiots , or should i say, Keystone Cops ? One could also conclude that they knew exactly what they were doing ! They were protecting their interest in the Drug business . Organized Crime, is not new, to Telfair and Dodge Counties ! I know there are a lot of respectable, Law abiding Citizens in McRae ! Why are they allowing this Crap to continue ? I know that some of the people know the Governor Personally and the State Attorney . It just looks like someone would get off their ASS and clean this corruption out !
