I can't understand why people don't hold her to the same standard they'd hold the 'Democrat' candidate in regards to 'family values'. If a female Democratic candidate had a special needs newborn with Down's Syndrome and she chose to put her political career ahead of her family instead of staying home with the children, no telling what these people would be calling her. And if she had been pregnant before being married AND had a teenage daughter who'd followed in her footsteps, forget it! Why is it when Republicans get caught in morally compromising situations like cheating on their wives (David Vitter, Newt Gingrich, JOHN McCAIN with his first wife), etc., their supporters can quickly find it in their hearts to forgive, but when it's anyone else, forget it! These things are 'private matters' with Republicans; with Democrats, it's what the G.O.P. makes into THE bait-and-switch (non-issue) ISSUES of the campaign. Doesn't anyone else realize what hypocrites the Republicans are?!

Sarah Palin was mayor of a very small town of 9000 people. During her time as mayor she tried to fire the town librarian for not being willing to ban books Palin might find objectionable. No books were banned, and the librarian ultimately kept her job, but it doesn't change the facts.

Palin attended 5 different small colleges before finally managing to graduate. Her total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people.

Palin's husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education. He didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that hates America and advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA.

Palin hasn't even served one complete term as governor and yet she is already under investigation for trying to use her political influence to have her former brother-in-law fired.(It doesn't matter that he is a jerk, Palin's actions were illegal. They show her willingness to break the law when she deems is appropriate. Now she is trying to cover it up by asking to have the investigation moved to the Alaska Personnel Board whose members Palin selects. Alarming in someone who wants to be second in command of our country.)

Obama graduated from Harvard Law School. He spent 3 years as a hard working community organizer, became the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, created a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spent 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spent 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spent 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees.

Obama has been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches

Michelle Obama is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family.

The Republicans have spent most of the summer attacking Obama for his supposed lack of experience, yet they jump in to support Palin when she has no legislative experience at all.

McCain is 72 and has had multiple bouts of melanoma. He had an obligation to select a running mate who has the experience necessary to be president. He had many choices, male and female, among his Republican colleagues. He picked Sarah Palin in order to appeal to the extreme right in his party. This act proves that McCain cares more about winning the election than providing this nation with a proper, experienced leader.

The hypocrisy of his selection of Sarah Palin is appalling.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aquarius

You're in a tricky position because someone who is supposed to know what they're talking about seems to be spouting complete nonsense instead. If this is an older friend or relative then you can simply smile politely and wait for them to rejoin the rest of us on Planet Earth. But if it's a boss or bureaucrat who's talking rubbish or giving you some puzzling orders, you'll be in a quandary about what to do.
