Lexington tackling homeless during Equestrian Games

That is great to have the homeless sheltered during the WEG. What about after that?

I'm concerned about the hole tackling part. Some of these homeless can't take being tackled, and who is gonna do the tackling, the police? Just how many times will they be tackled?

Right. They decide to "tackle" them just because of the WEG. Wonder why this was not a concern before WEG was even on our tongues. Why weren't they "tackled" 5 or 10 years ago..or even longer??

why are they only deciding to help these people now that they don't want others to see them hanging out around downtown? They should be helped and offered shelter every night!!

It's okay folks. The kind people who have allways helped the homeless have stepped up to the plate. Think about this, your homeless and you have a bag with your stuff in it. Places you normaly hang out like near the water at the court house will be running over with drunk people who have homes to go to, or several homes to live in at the same time. Okay, now our homeless they aren't thinking about homeland security, cause they don't have a home and setting their bag down and walking away isn't out of the norm for them. That would cause the drunk people to freek out. So the good people have made arrangments so they can survive in a world of drunken idiots without being harassed anymore than what the drunken fools that will invade their space will do. In short, it is a good thing and even the homeless need a break.

Why not dress the homeless as jockeys and have them sit on the fake horse,s around Lexington ,not a bad deal pay them ,we give money to everbody else!

The jockey idea is no good, they are too tall. BUT, they could be horse farm workers, you know, low paied overworked and looked down upon as servents.

We can give them all an all expense paid one way bus ticket to an exotic locale such as Knoxville or Indianapolis. Call it the WEG vagrant vacation plan. Everybody needs a vacation! Even the bums.

Lexington is ugly downtown now. Next the the library those nasty homeless people sleep, eat, defecate in the park next to the library. They also use the bathrooms in the library also. Why doesn't the city run those nasty trolls out of there!? I was born and raised in Lexington and come back from time to time to visit my brother. We go for walks and go to some of the downtown resturants/bars. It is nasty to see those homeless roaming all over the place their. I have been told that it is because of those idiot liberals running Lexington. I say feed them some rat poison and be done with it.

No, I will never be homeless. Even if I tried. I have good amount of money therefore,,,,impossible. I say sweep them up and haul them off.

How about I shove my bull right down your throat so that you gag!? As for class the homeless don't have any nor anything else. As I said earlier, feed them rat poison and then sweet the remains down the sewage system. They make our cities, along with negros, look bad. Doesn't say much when a city allows this to happen. Its not the random cart them off to jail for some minor charge just to get them out of sight for a couple of weeks.

there was a lady who has been hanging out downtown for 6 months now, she does not bother anyone and yes she has mental issues but harless none the less. They picked her up and sent her for rehab.
the only good thing i can think about this is she may get some meds and a warm bed for a while. I heard she will be there for awhile.
If the police are sending people off to jail just because the mayor wanted downtown to look like maybarry for the WEG, then we have a more serious problem with our government officials than i thought.

Why cant we hire the homeless to help the homeless? give them small jobs to feed the others and pay them for their time. this way more people living on the streets will feel they have a purpose to get up and work. and they would also start making some money to get them on their feet. what do you guys think?
