Politicians dont raise taxes. They raise fees. This is just another way they can say to the public " I did not raise taxes". What a joke these politicians are. Yet we allow them to bleed us all the time. remember we voted them in and we asked for it!!!

You want to know how to save State money? Instead of having all the State legislators having to meet together in Tallahassee to conduct their business, have them stay in their home districts and meet virtually. There is absolutely no compelling reason to physically locate everyone in Tallahassee with the video and audio linkage systems we have today. Hasn't anyone ever heard of "Go to Meeting".com etc. and "Skype" etc.??? Tell me you can't communicate and vote and show each other graphic etc. using your PC and I'll tell you that you either are lying or don't know much about modern technology. These also are just "light" applications. Today our legislators have to maintain two offices - one home in their districts and one in Tallahassee and spend all the money going back and forth, living in two places. Electronically connecting them together is one Helluva lot cheaper than physically doing it. Washington can do the same thing just as easily - maybe cheaper, as they have access to military communication systems far advanced over civilian. That's where a lot of your money goes. As for education costs, wring some out of the parents of the kids in school today. They made 'em, they are supposed to feed 'em, house 'em, clothe 'em, and educate 'em, not the village. You only need enough school tax for he wretchedly poor to obtain an education, not everyone. Change the damned Florida Constitution one word and you have the legal basis - erase the word "free" and insert the word "affordable".

I agree that if they were going to do this, it should have been in much smaller percentages over a few years. Hopefully by then things will have improved some and people could afford this more. All this right now is bad. Some people are struggling as it is.

I agree with several things you said, but your grammar and spelling are so poor, I could barely get past that to read your comment.

Clinton wasn't impeached for his sexual activities. His perjurious statements about his sexual activities earned him that.

Same in Maine where we are charged excise tax. Solution, drive an older but reliable car and save on tag and insurance

cigarettes are not a necessity. driving is.

they should have added "fees" to cigarettes instead.

better yet: legalize marijuana, treat it like alcohol, and tax that. you wanna talk about revenue & stimulus? holy cow...imagine the skyrocketing Frito Lay & Pizza Hut stock...

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Virgo

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
