Who ever authorized the over 1 million dollars to bring Michele Obama needs to be responsible to pay for it. Not the Calif tax payers. That is so irresponsible--state employees are forced to take pay cuts, lay offs and furlough days--and college students fees increased. In this economy-- so Mereced and UC Merced staff don't go whinning-- you have the UC administration to thank !!

It was worth every penny and then some to bring the First Lady to Merced. This is something those kids will never forget...Michelle Obama spoke at thier graduation. I can'y even remember who spoke at my graduation.

Are you nuts? California is beyond BROKE! How much did you pay for this trip? It was a useless venture. At least CA paid and not other taxpayers. Deport criminal illegal aliens and you might have some money. |
