Delta could have pulled out altogether

Full story: Eureka Times Standard

Although Delta Airlines will be limiting its direct to-and-from Salt Lake City service to the summer months as of the end of August, local supporters remain hopeful that won't be forever.

It's been a week since I found out Delta dumped Arcata after Sept 1. My flights to the east coast are in Oct. I called up to have Delta rebook through SFO (with United-which I should have done in the fist place! Like always!) to get me to Delta flights, and Delta says they will not book or pay for United to fly me to SF to connect to the rest of my itinerary with Delta. Which, by the way has yet to be changed, since I am not going to Salt Lake. First the airline said they do not work with United,(at all) but would work with Alaska/Horizon to get me to the nearest airport to make my connections. I told them I'd have to think about that one. When I called back again to Delta to book through Seattle, OR LA (where Horizon goes from Arcata) where I had friends say they'd put me up over night, if needed, AND drive me from/to the airport, Delta said they would not work with any other airline.
I feel like I'm venting about this and not doing any good. If anyone has a travel agent who is worthy to repair this USING DELTA so that I don't have to pay another $450 to get to SF on UNITED and back let me know here. Thanks.

ah yes humboldt gets ripped off again because they have so many incompetent people in charge of business transactions.
they have non idea how to deal with large corporate or federal government
agencies.
do they have anyone that understands how to write up business contracts that will protect this area from being taken advantage of?
obviously not.

Delta has the highest loss due to crashes than any other American airline. Consider it your lucky day!

anon you whine in the most negative way possible. do you have delta stock?
people have a right to seek a fair return on what they paid and lose due to a corporate rip off.
you wouldn't understand though as you live on line without a real life.

HAHAHA

And a airline should stay in operation at a facility losing monies, to satisfy your need to visit your grand daughter via airplane vs. bus?

Who do you think you are.

Shut your OWN yap.

Times-Standard July 1:
Humboldt County Airport Manager Jacquelyn Hulsey said those who are holding tickets for Delta travel after the stop date of Aug. 31 are advised to wait a week before contacting the airline. She said she has been reassured that Delta will rebook those passengers on other carriers to make their connections east.
LIES and in the very least: MISINFORMATION
I tried calling Delta about this 2 days ago. I was told at that time we would have to rebook through LAX using Horizon Airlines. I was not happy about that, as it meant rebooking ALL our flights/destinations, and told the agent I'd have to call back.
Other option: Refund.
After consideration, discussion, and searching like crazy for a comparable fare,(man, it was LOW!) I gave in and called Delta today, to rebook our November and December flights to the east coast thru LAX on Horizon, as now required.
Since we found such awesome LOW fares in June, the Delta agent told me our flight exchanges will NOT be honored by the connections on "code share" airline: HORIZON (Alaska Air). The Delta representative stated, per a memo from Delta Headquarters in Atlanta, that: Horizon Airlines doesn't offer THAT CLASS of ticket on THAT (meaning ANY ACV/LAX) flight.
Not only that, the flight we needed to book (on the same date) to LAX is already nearly sold out!? WOW!
Then I called a travel agent friend to have her check and get all the info, try rebooking for me. Delta told her since our reservations were made online they would not talk to any travel agent representative about changing the flights.(?)
Is that weird??
Or what??
The travel agent was confused at that one!!
I think:
tomorrow....
.....we'll have her call back
....and say she's ME......
I'll be following this story, and I hope Ms Hulsey is taking a little heat about her/Delta's so called "reassurance" to us Humboldt air travelers.

Delta could have pulled out but Humboldt likes the way it feels when airlines come inside them.

Horizon on the other hand, will spray it all over Humboldts face.

Not a Delta fan, 450 to fly to SFO? Man some one saw you coming. I can fly round trip from PDX to ACV to PFX for 239. BTW that is a airport that Delta, Horizon and united fly out of so you may to look at that option. I have flown both united and alaska/horizon from PDX to ACV. Same cost within about 10 bucks and just about the same travel time total. Only diff between the two was united goes PDX-SFO-ACV and Horizon goes PDX-Redding-ACV. I prefered the united just because I could get off the plane and strech a bit. You get to sit on the plane on the ground in Redding for about a hour on Horizon. If you have issues finding this let me know. I just booked a flight to ACV from PDX in Augest for a class reunion, paid 226 for round trip

Yes, you read it right; but alas, the T-S did not mention this in the last article, so "The Henchman" could not resist proclaiming the truth. Thank your Humboldt County Board of Supervisors who voted in favor of yet another misappropriated action. Check the votes of Neely and Company........

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
