Tin Man coming back to King Heating and Air Conditioning?

Full story: www.southtownstar.com

It's been a question on a lot of people's minds in Oak Forest ever since Hank Kuspa was elected mayor: When is the Tin Man going back up at King Heating and Air Conditioning? Not only does it appear that the cult figure will be coming back to his lofty perch, it will happen sooner rather than later.

From the article...

"A ceremony to put the iconic statue back on the roof of Willson's business could happen within a few weeks..."

``````````
If I'm not working, I'll be there!
I do not live in Oak Forest but I think it is a good thing. I drove by it for years. Welcome back Tin Man.
I guess it's a little late for name tags. I already know who WW1, MR, TA2, and of corse FS are. Although there are a few others that I would like to meet. JustJex is one of them, so maybe nametags wouldn't be a bad idea.
Just like the tinman character from the movie, Oak Forest has always had a heart...despite the echoes reverberating when one knocked on the place where a heart was supposed to reside.
One small victory for small business, one giant leap for the community of Oak Forest!:)
I don't mean to perpetuate rumors and speculation, but I was told the whole Tinman issue was a political move to squeeze the owners because they didn't want to sell the land (Sundberg and Doherty's both caved long ago, remember them?) to make way for train parking or some such nonsense.
Whatever the case, I'm glad to see the new administration isn't being petty and stupid about it and we'll get our iconic landmark back.
My understanding was that due to changes in the building codes in Oak Forest, when the time came for them to repair their roof, they had no choice but to disconnect themselves from their existing grandfather protection permitting the Tin Man to stay on the roof.
So they were eventually forced to ignore the wants and desires of the community in order to ensure they continued to act in a responsible manner when caring for the externals of their establishment.
Kudos to the Kuspa Administration should the Tin Man actually be permitted to return to his original outdoor home!
I would love to see the tin man back on his perch...I always had a smile when I drove past the building. He belongs back on his roof.
It's so nice to see the good people of Midlothian want to see the tin man back up as we do.
So, it'll be name tags, huh? I'll have to find one. LOL.
I really hope the ceremony is on a weekend or weeknight when I don't work. I don't want to miss this!
Now what about the water tower? I miss the smiley face. When I work south I would always know when my exit was coming up. I guess baby steps. At least it is not John Deere green. Nothing against Joe Diffie.
This is so cool. Not living out there no more but I sure remember it.
And how about after school you could go in the store and get one of those small bottles of pop and open it on the machine, remember?
Props to all of you for sticking to your guns and the the ole' fella back!:-)
Daily Horoscope for December 19
Gemini
Maybe it's pre-Christmas tension but people can turn nasty in the blink of an eye today. This is especially likely if they've got a lot on their plate or they think they're very important, and you may have to treat them with kid gloves if you want to avoid getting sucked into a bad-tempered war of words. Some gentle humor may help to rescue the situation before it descends into acrimony.
